Pretty much self explanatory.

Looking forward to the 2009 season as are most.

Which Eagle player has your interest?

We will try and help you out with their progress as much as humanly possible.

Mr E or Keys please sticky.

*Oh and if you don't have Cox as your starting ruck, you aren't serious.

Good day sir.

I was wondering how Thomas Swift is doing?

Thank you.
Thomas Swift you say?

Hope this helps..

T Swift – loose wing for most the match (some time in defence on Notte? in the last 1/4). Finds the ball and covers the ground with ease (plenty of it in the first half particularly). Kicking was woeful (often with 0 pressure), but his use by hand and vision was excellent. Didn’t have an opponent and didn’t seek to get involved in many heavily contested plays (although he used the ball very cleanly and effectively when he did).

On Swift, this was his first game at anything like this level - he got the ball easily enough, ran to the right spots and had good disposal skills aside from his non-pressure kicks (passes) which were genuinely embarassing. That said, not many kids just walk in and pick up the pace quite so quickly.

Impressed with Swift, he has barely played at a level above U16's in 2 years and he was able to find the ball and use it excellently by hand. Played off a wing and was able to read the play very well, has absolutely no trouble with finding the ball either in space or going after the ball in traffic. He is quick, dynamic and strong - he needs time to find that sharp timing again because he has missed out on a lot of development, I could see him having a big impact in the second half of the season or even earlier depending on how he goes for the Tigers.

His kicking was for the most part terrible, it's not even that he's a bad kick - in traffic his kicking was good, it was the kicks under little pressure that were embarrassingly bad and it's something that will needed to be worked on

Tom Swift: Played on the wing. Accumulated alot of the ball, usually stayed away from the contest and was used on the way forward. Can certainly find the ball, no problems there. I remember on one occasion he dived in to get the ball under a few players coming quickly in his direction, looked a bit sore after that. Looked abit tired and his kicking was off but that could be nerves because I knowhe possesses great skills. Played the first 3 quarters.

At $86,600 DT and $94,200 SC, Swift represents good value if he manages to break into the side. :thumbsu:

Thats why i havnt even looked at my bench yet
NAB cup is great for choosing youngsters (excpet North youngsters (SDT)
Laidley is a fantasy football killer.

How about Josh Kennedy? Is he worth paying good money for?
I would say there are better options out there at his DT price of $278,900 & SC price of $332,400.

Plus as much as I would love to say he is durable, he is yet to prove that to us.

I'm interested in Hurn., Waters and Hansen for Supercoach. Would be interested to know opinions of these 3 from Eagles supporters. Are Hurn or Waters capable of playing any time in the midfield?

Hurn: $285,500 Could spend some time as a winger, outside receiver. Not saying he cant do the hardball, contested stuff, but with Bungas frame he is better suited to receiving the pill and kicking long. We at WC are looking for a marked improvement in fitness and goalscoring. Could be a viable option in SC, is in my initial plans thus far.

Waters: $303,00 I wouldn't touch him in SC. Loves a clanger. Is prone to turning it over in the back-line. Better suited for DT, where efficiency means = 0.

Hansen: $278,000 If you like injured players, ones that struggle to get a contest possession or even take a contested mark, then this guy is for you. I prefer decent forwards that play at least 16+ games a yr. Better off going for a rookie. Or Ryan Houlihan.

Good luck. :thumbsu:

From what I have gathered Hurn's role this year won't be much different from last years. He will only get you 50 pts each week and that's not enough to warrant selection.

Hopefully he plays a loose role in defense, as he did at training when I went. The players shall kick to him at all opportunites. He can take the uncontsted mark and boom it 60+ on the chest of another player.

I don't get this thread. I don't get the title or what you guys are talking about.

Would someone explain what on earth is SC/DT, maybe it will make sense once I know what you are talking about.

He just doesn't get a lot of the ball.

Nicoski will be the first option coming out of defence.

DT = Dream Team
SC = Supercoach

SC is DT's ******ed brother, won't be wasting my time on it this year.
