What a star. To come back from such a horrific injury to get BOG in the VFL Grand Final. A bit of a fairytale ehh?

You star Tommy! :thumbsu:

I know I had a knot in the throat and a tear in the eye myself when he was making his speech.

What a perfect way to start grand final week. Not only did we win the VFL flag, but to have Tom Lonergan win the Norm Goss medal was the icing on the cake. For a guy to have suffered such an injury, lose 18kg, do all the rehabilitation, make his comeback to football mid season, and come into the grand final and dominate like he did was simply awesome. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Re-****in-SPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lonners, well done mate. You'll have the seniors running through brick walls even with a spoonful of the courage you've shown today and throughout the year.

Given that Lonergan is 197cm and quite mobile and versatile for his size Geelong should consider keeping him at the club. I think that the taller forward line stocks look ok for the future with Mooney, Nablett, SJ, and Hawkins and Grima in the VFL. Then there is the smaller players like Chapman, Stokes and Dj in the VFL to come through next year. Lonergan is skilled enough to play back and forward. He could be very handy. With some good work in the gym on his core and upper body he could be very handy. It was great to see him win the medal for the best player on the ground. He played well down back then moved forward to slot six. A great effort.

THAT afl game last year , was the first senior game he played in defence and was dominating. Today he dominated in the forward and Back. I look forward to him playing in the seniors next year. :thumbsu:
