I look at the roster and wonder how one acquires assists like russ when the team is spud worthy.

The Thunder really aren't as bad as people make out.

You'd think he had Lebron's 2010 supporting cast or something the way people talk about his teammates.

Who the f** left Ryan Anderson open on that 2nd last play... Ryan Anderson FFS?
Was an absolutely beautiful play

Can't leave harden. Can't leave Gordon or ariza either

Flipside is I don't know how Minnesota didn't waste now clock

I dunno if it's that great, they switched on the screen and then for some reason Wiggins still got lost and over helped off Randerson 1 pass away. That's real bad from Wiggins imo, just let Towns guard Harden and if he makes a tough step back 3 then oh well.

Houston on track to win 60 games despite having played 16 of their first 28 on the road. Pretty impressive.

When you surround a star by guys who dont mind not touching the ball things can happen i guess

The Jazz have a good roster. Deep, athletic and well-drilled (despite my dislike of Snyder), everything i wish the Bulls were... :(

they get load of touches, it is why Harden is high up on the assists and passes list

They get a few touches when he decides

But he is a ball hog who plays little defence imo

Just like Westbrook is a ball hog.

Dont make the mistake of confusing usage with not passing.

Fair, hog is a bit much, I just dont think he plays a brand that would allow him to incorporate another star and he wont win without one deep into the year
'Again just my view, will probably win the title now after beating OKC in the west.
'But I dont think Harden or Westbrook are MVP

you need to watch the game he is playing, is right up near the top for overall passes in a game.

dominant today so far with his passing, has 11 assists at the half

Harden is third in the whole league for passes
http://stats.nba.com/players/passing/#!?sort=PASSES_MADE&dir=1

First for potential assists
http://stats.nba.com/players/passing/#!?sort=POTENTIAL_AST&dir=1

Third in secondary assists, meaning he opens things up with his driving and kick out passes, that lead to another pass for an open shot
http://stats.nba.com/players/passing/#!?sort=SECONDARY_AST&dir=1

He is also number 1 for points created for his team
http://stats.nba.com/players/passing/#!?sort=AST_POINTS_CREATED&dir=1

a ball hog would be no where near the top of those lists

A ball centric player could easily lead assists

how long for the 24 seconds does he have the ball?

either way I cant argue with their standing now, Obviously he is a star, but i think when it matters he wont win and the rockets wont win a title with that team

just my view though

if it is that easy, why is Boogie Cousins not averaging 10+ assists, seeing as he has the ball more than Harden does. I think you are mistaking usage rate and productivity up. You need to have talent to be able to create for yourself and others to have a high usage rate like the best players have and it also matters who on your team can create for others as well.

Also Houston are the hottest team in December

December champs yep

edit sorry answer cut off,

you are probably right, again my original point is not that Harden is not a superstar or Houston are not a good team, I think when it matters he will try to do too much and in the clutch or in the playoffs they wont win that way

again just a view, probably a minority view

Still taking the Warriors month over Houston.

Houston have only had to play 4 playoff teams for the month (out of 12 games), but did go an impressive 3-1. Their wins though were by 3, 1 and 5 (Double OT). Great close out wins, but hardly dominate.

8 of the Warriors 11 games have come against playoff teams. 6-2 in those games, including 4 wins by more than 15.

Will give Houston credit though. They are doing a lot better than I thought. And Harden is currently my MVP.
