Don't like Kane Cornes in Supercoach, burnt me last year :(

How about this?
Pavlich + Ryan Houlihan + Andy Otten
OR
Chapman + N. Krakouer/Skipworth + Travis Tuck

Also, does Rich seem a lock for R1?

chapman, skipworth and tuck seem the better option.

how about hodge and mackie vs gilbee and goddard

217 thou problem
Krak or hentch? pros cons?

I've taken Krakauer- zippy small forward who can also play back- possibly take the kick ins (Port people may be able to confirm that), so could get lots of easy touches. Hentschel isn't a bad choice either, just not sold on his endurance yet...

Two things still worrying me (which have been done here before, but any more thoughts appreciated):

Tippett vs Leuenberger 2nd ruck spot (supporting Cox)- Tippett's likely to get more game time and didn't do too badly last year- can slip forward and kick a goal or two as well. If Charman's out then Leuenberger is number 1 ruck for the Bears, and is pretty handy himself, and $70K cheaper.

C Morton vs T Tuck 6th Mid- Morton is likely to play more games, and has bulked up since last year. Tuck has more competition for a spot, but will possibly score better than Morton. Of course the logical follow-on from that is that if Tuck does score well then he'll be more likely to keep his spot. Doing my head in :(.

That is a tough scenario. I'm betting Hodge will average 120+ this year, and you can expect Gilbee and Goddard to average 100+ too.
Only thing that has stopped me getting Hodge straight away is he didn't really have a pre-season and might be coming in a bit underdone?

who are the forwards under 230k that will do well, i have skipworth and higgens i need one more, im tossing up between hentschel and krakouer.

decided to keep raines.

will be able to hold onto him for longer than henderson.

so

goodes + richo vs kornes + buddy

?!

Jeez Spartan- you come up with the tough ones, don't you? I'd be erring on the side of Goodes and Richo (just)- one, Kornes is riskier than the other three in clangerability terms, and two, Buddy is a better chance of going down in value early than the others so can be an upgrade target.

He'll probably end up scoring more though, so the latter option may actually be better- you're unlikely to trade any of these guys out, so perhaps the question should really be who are you more likely to want to trade IN, and choose them (if you see what I'm saying...;))- save yourself the trade.

gilbee and goddard I'm thinking. Mackie might have to toghten up a bit now hunt's gone.

cross & selwood v s tuck & corey?

I think that boils down to just how much you think Selwood is going to explode this year- the other three are all super consistent (and Tuck may even get better scores now that Benny's there to take the big tag).

Damnit- you've almost given me bad thoughts about changing my team now- yikes...

Tuck would rarely get tagged, so Johnson being out might mean he does a few more runwith roles than before.

Decided on Cross

what if i said its now NDS/Richo vs Kornes/Buddy (and 94k rookie defender becomes Dawson ).

does it make the decision easier?

Not really...
If you're aiming to get Buddy in anyway go for Kornes/Buddy. If you're still not sure then Dal/Richo. Dawson will probably not set the world on fire, but should still play the first few games and make some cash

First time since starting this caper I haven't had Dal in my starting side, but I'm now second guessing and thinking about downgrading Judd to one of the $530-540 (or even up to Dal) mids and bolstering my forward line a little more (which is weak as wee-wee at the moment). I know there's some talk about Judd not being worth it (hi Judd_Magic!), but if I follow my own advice then I'm sort of wasting a trade not having him in to begin with.

Ugh.

the rookie backs all suck balls. i have a semi smokey, but even he isnt a lock in the 22. dawson will play a few games, hopefully make enough cash to upgrade one of my midrangers into a premium.

the thing with dal thats a bit of a concern is his sc/dt ratio. in years gone by 100 for dal in dt is a 130+ in sc. this year two of his SC scores are actually less than his DT scores.

so yeh.. settled on kornes/buddy. fingers crossed.

happy with my team.

:)

Buddy is bound to play a bad one or two at some point and drop below 500 and Kornes drove me crazy last year with his sh1t scores...I would go Dal Santo and Richo and get Buddy in later.

Bit of a late one ... Kerr v McLean?

Leaning towards Brock for the tackle count

*wanders off to count Brock's tackle* :p

They're both pretty risky- McLean hasn't played a full season, or anything close to it, for the last few years, and he'll certainly have a lot to do this year, so is likely to hurt himself again. Kerr's possible upside is massive, but with a lot of question marks. There are other players around the same price who could be better bets (although all with queries)- Stanton, PBurger, Wells, even Foley.

I've had T Walker and M Brown as my forward bench rookies for ages now, but since Garlett has been picked at least for the first game I'm thinking of swapping one of them in for him just be safe. Not just to be safe- I think he's a firecracker. If I did, which one of the other lads should I lose?
