How do you feel about them?

Any sports you are keen on?

James Tomkins, what a gun, 43 and still an elite athlete in a grueling sport.

I dont mind them, James Tomkins is a gun. The only thing is how overated The Aussie Commentators rate the Aussie Athletes, and some of the Aussie Teams and Athletes get to cocky, and it is cringworthy. Eg: Like when they say " Our Cathy" ( referring to Cathy Freeman) and Tamsyn Lewis is to Cocky, The Hockeyroos - yes they are good, But be humble about it. The Swimmers,be humble, respect your opponents. Also how they say in the swimming that The Americans and Aussies are rivals, no they're not, The Americans (I love when they get beat) dont consider us as rivals, their rivals are Canada and England ( To a certain extent) we are just a notch on their belt. Oh an the basketball, sorry commentators, we are not rivals with the USA, not even in their league, the US are rivals with teams like, Lithuania, Argentina, Spain, Russia.

I was impressed by The Australian Divers, who were humble.
Extremley impressed by the humbleness of Maria Pekli, She came 4th Australia, in her weight division for Judo.

That Crap show in the morning with Andrew Daddo I just want to punch the TV in, Rebecca Wilson makes me sick, typical Sydneysider, as well as that Sonia Kruger, Cringe worthy tv.

For great coverage of the Olympics, stuff Channel 7, put on SBS, Craig Foster does a great job, along with Les Murray, Mike Tomolaris and David Basheer!

Just my 2 cents worth.

Sorry guys. :o

Those things that are certainties in life.

1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Grant Hackett will get sick at a big event.
4. Grant Hackett will say he had no excuses, but he was sick

I actually don't mind Grant, but what's the deal with always getting sick at big events?

Geez it gives you the shits! It's like a pre event disclaimer, in case of poorer than expected results :thumbsd:

Just watched a 4 or 5 minute replay of some poor Colombian weightlifter pulling his right hand off the bar before he'd lifted it off the ground. He repeated this a further 6 or 7 times until he was out of the event and he ended up shedding more tears than Nick Riewoldt.

I suspected he was nursing a bad injury and it was causing him great pain to try to lift the bar, but none of the moron commentators bothered to venture an opinion for me. They simply went with a few "Oh no" and "What a shame" style comments that any one of us could have offered.

When they returned to Mr Waste-of-Space (aka Sandy Roberts) at the giant desk all he could offer us viewers was something like "You've got to ask yourself 'why'". Thanks for the insight there Sandy.

I thought: You lot of useless bludgers are over there with your heads in the Olympic trough, swilling away for all you're worth. Why doesn't one of you go and ask the Colombian or his coach (or a Colombian journalist) why and get back to us with some real information?

I'll flick between 7 and SBS until I find something better to watch elsewhere.

Master of the insightful comments ins Mr Roberts.

I detest Seven with a passion, but I think their coverage this year is a big improvement on previous Olympics.

Worst part for me is on a couple of occasions I've been too lazy to change the channels to Nine and end up seeing Today Tonight. I could pretend I'm not reading the auto-cue better than Anna Coren does. And how they pass that show off as current affairs I don't know. Their main story this week has been about how beach volleyballers wear small uniforms.

*WARNING* Not for the faint hearted, this is up there with Nathan Brown's broken leg for sickness.

Tricket was ahead and flying, before being steamrolled by the fast finishing Britta Steffen, who won by the length of a fingernail........and a total of 0.04 seconds!!! Very bad luck for Libby.

Steffen did well to stay along with her.

Jones was a 1.02 favourite and had the gold stolen and her world record.

Cheers for the updates guys.

Damn, ah well great effort nonetheless.

Libby in anymore events? Probably up there as one of the most likeable Aussie athletes.

Medley relay. Dunno if they've swum the womens 50m freestyle yet?

Again,we go in as gold favourites, but things have changed this week, with the emergence of a few swimmers from other countries in peak form, and ours' a little off. Should be another cracker of a race!

Hackett update:

Head Coach, Alan Thompson, has just cleared the "sickness" issue, saying that "no, he's not sick at all, but he has been a bit flat. I'm confident he can swim well tonight and produce his best in the final tomorrow".

Except when he doesn't do well than they will say he was sick.

Australia's swimmers apart from Stephanie rice (damn she's HOT) have been dissapointing

Yeah the 50m is still to come and our girls would be favorites for the medley relay.

I don't know whether I'd call our swimmers totally disappointing, cause we are still winning silver and bronze medals. Probably shows up our lack of high class racing our swimmers get. In athletics the best dozen or so runners might face off against each other 10 times a year, whereas in swimming it might be more like once every year or two.

And the only worth repeating story, it is.
