Schmeicel would be the only keeper who hung around long enough to be considered.
Not to sound biased, but legitimately Cech.
Who had more appearances than Schmeichel. And more clean sheets.

Meh. I watch him every week. This myth that he is a terrible defender is just that, a myth. He's not Maldini but he's not a liability. If he was a liability he wouldnt start every game for a team that has recently won the European Cup and the League title.

He shits on every other right back going forward. For me, he's still the best RB in world football, Gareth Southgate is an idiot if he doesnt take him to the Euros.

I don’t know if Maldini is who you should have name dropped. Peak Maldini would be the best defender in the world right now.

Colour me shocked again.

I think we all watch a lot of football, so that 'I watch him every week' is just crap.

TBH I think TAA is a very good 'wingback' but IMO Hakimi has gone past him this season as the best in the world in that reguard. He is weak defensively and you've stated he needs better defenders behind to be a better player.

As a "fullback' Walker and James are clearly better and they can also easily slip into the CB, wingback or CM depending on tactics.

So Walker starts, James on the bench and TAA cutting the oranges.

Sorry, my apologies. Actually Cech should be the keeper in the hall of fame. I guess him being a backup keeper for the last couple of years at the club was how I remembered him whereas Schmeicel left while he was still the #1.

Schmeichel, Cech, Seaman and Van Der Sar/Reina will have claims to being in the HOF in the future years once the initial glut of players are elevated. A bit like the AFL HOF when it was introduced in 1996.

Schmeichel and Cech will both get in fairly quickly I would have thought.

Has the best clean sheet percentage of keepers with >100 clean sheets.
No business being mentioned with those other names IMO.

Put someone like Reina in you'll need a bigger building.

Schmeichel and Cech only ones to get in for me. Seaman unlucky.
Seaman and VDS should be in there too IMO.

van der Sar played 16 more games than Reina and had fewer clean sheets.

Lol, don't mistake the team success for the player.

Reina wasnt around long enough. And the last couple of years he dropped off significantly.

So what you are saying is he was clearly the best then? Given he dropped off in his later years but still has the best clean sheet % of any goal keeper with 100+ games in the PL?
