Clean Sheet % isn't necessarily the best metric to judge a GK by unless you're also factoring in who played in front of him and what the team's overall defensive set up is
What about save %?

Considering one deflected goal can mean no clean sheet and no chance of a keeper saving it, ditto an OG. Clean sheets also don't say whether a GK has been worked. Pretty sure some of them have been 0 save performances this season.

Whenever the opposition counter attack, TAA seems to be badly out of position and good teams target him. He'd be good when England are playing minnows but not when they are playing the better sides.
You don’t know it but this post just gave Bradesmaen a raging boner.

Based off twitter action today starting to think a few of my fellow fans need to watch Sunderland Til I die again and get some perspective.

So many precious fans saying they won’t renew their season ticket.

What we have to complain about pales in comparison to most clubs in the pyramid. Woe is us we may miss European Football. Woe is us our best player may leave.

But Milan is guaranteed to at least make the UEL (and could even finish 2nd if they beat Atalanta this weekend)

A lot of Spurs season ticket holders are still very upset by the ESL. They are just doing what they think is best to force change. Spurs making them sit out of site of the cameras so they can promote their sponsors was a bit crass. There were a few punch ons between fans at the villa game too. That is very very rare for spurs fans.

I have zero issues if a fan wants out over ESL fwiw. I became ENIC out because of it.

Wasn’t a comment based off that though. Seen so many referencing the slow drop down the table, possible Kane departure and debt related low spending. That’s where I think how damn precious.

A bury, pompey or Bolton fan must see that and roll their eyes at how pathetic we are. 9 cup finals or semi’s in the last 10-15 years, CL final and title aspirations and projecting online about not renewing because we may miss Europe, most of the players are unlikeable and Kane is thinking of leaving. To that I say ciao and sayonara, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

And yes the fan treatment at the villa game was so tone deaf in light of recent events.

Same sort of feeling towards United fans btw. I applaud them for wanting the glazers out given they siphon money for themselves but if I were to see someone whinging about the state of the club, long wait for league titles and the regression back to the pack post-SAF then I’d roll the eyes and say the same thing.

None of the fans of the 6 ESL clubs have anything meaningful to complain about other than signing up to ESL itself. We’ve all had it better than most

No business being mentioned with those other names IMO.

Seaman and VDS should be in there too IMO.
Why does Reina have no business being named with those other keepers? I think people get mixed up with team awards over individual success.

You say VDS should be in.

VDS has 1 Golden Gloves, Reina has 3 which is the second best all time.
VDS CS % is 42.17, 3rd all time. Reina's is 45.79, 1st all time.
VDS has 132 clean sheets, Reina has 136.

So tell me again how Reina shouldnt be mentioned with those guys?

I'd not even have Pepe Reina in the best 10 GKs of this century

Not necessarily in order;

Buffon, Kahn, Neuer, Cech, VDS, Casillas, Lehmann, Alisson, Julio Cesar, Dida, Oblak, Valdes
But this is the PL HOF not the world football HOF. And VDS has no business on that list.

Also Lehmann 😂

Because he isn't as good as them? Thought that was fairly clear.

Not sure any keepers beside Cech and Schmeichel deserve to get in.
Im not even saying he should go in, but after Schmeichel and Cech, he's on that next level with guys like Seaman, VDS etc. I was most arguing that he wasnt on that level which IMO he clearly is.

Be interesting to see if the HOF rewards longevity with GKs like Schwarzer, David James etc... I hope not.

The biggest problems with HOF's is they become real easy to get into. Instead of rewarding the best of the best, almost anybody ends up getting in. The Basketball HOF is a mess.

Hopefully they dont dilute it by trying to add footballers every year.

And it'll be interesting to see what they do with Giggs, its a Ablett Snr type situation.

Yeah... I wonder if Cousins will ever get in given his erm... situation.

Giggs in an interesting one. The thing is, it's not a HOF for not beating on women and ruining familes which he obviously wouldnt get in. It's for footballing ability which he should get in. But it's not that black and white. He's a piece of shit though so I'm happy for him not to be in the HOF.
