Did Leeds fans really begrudge him for that? It's not like Leeds and Gala were traditional rivals. And you can't blame the club for off field incidents.

I was replying in general about players going to rival clubs. Never said it was bigger rivalry.

Kewell gave good service to Leeds but the writing was on the wall when he left. Leeds got relegated the next season later but Liverpool went on to win the Champions League. I don't think his move to Liverpool or Gala is particularly relevant to a discussion about players who were hated because they moved to a rival.
