I was being harsh earlier. I know that sports betting can be very addictive for young men.

He could have been at the World Cup, will he get another chance in 4 years when he’s 30? Betting has likely destroyed that dream for him.

That's true too. I suppose the low volume makes me wonder if he thought he wasn't doing anything wrong. Might have just been a low value acca every weekend or something.

Yeah thats what I reckon. 8 leg+ acca once a month or so.

I would imagine the severity will differ depending on if Brentford were bet on as well.

Won't know unless they release the details but it may not have been acca's at all.

People have paid huge sums for all kinds of collectables.

I was working in in the collectable cards space in the early 90s and people were dropping large sums on cards thinking they would one day be worth a fortune.

Most of those cards aren't worth much these days.

Example after example of people spending a lot of money on things that never ended up with anything.
