Its true though, Eden even says it himself.hell of a backhanded compliment. 'yeah he was really good when he could be arsed'
At National level I don't see the problem.Slippery slope.

That's the women's team that deserves it the most. They sell out stadiums as much as the mens don't they?
They're certainly getting closer all the time as well.Reckon Matildas here would do reasonably similar so wonder if this will prompt similar conversations.
Don't know if that's true at the international level.
Playing for/representing your country should be the same no matter what gender.
Regardless of gender pay should be linked to how much revenue the team/matches brings in.

The men would already have insurance through club football though wouldn't they? I'd say they're more likely to have the existing insurance than the women are.Should see the USWNT paid less or receive a lesser increase given their legal dispute a year or two ago was thrown out in court as the judge found they were better off than the men with the CBA with US Soccer.
Received less in match payments etc but got fringe extras the men didn’t like insurance and paid maternity leave among other things.
How does that logic work? National sporting bodies don't exactly make their money purely from crowds, they get government funding etc.

As for paid maternity, all women should have that in any line of work. Calling that a 'fringe extra' seems odd. That should just be a given.
