He is smarter than most.

He's not really.

There's this myth out there that he had us playing this wonderful football week in and week out and he was a tactical genius.

Watching him manage week in and out it wasn't that way.

Some of his team selections at times that backfired spectacularly had more than a few Albion fans musing he's not as clever as he thinks he is.

Ironically that often happened against teams we were above and strongly favoured to win.

That arrogance that you're smarter than the person you're up against was evident at times.

Did you have this opinion he he was still Brighton manager, or is it something you've only come to realise in recent months?

Just that it seems to me that you love everything involved with your team until they leave, and only then do you start looking for flaws.

Just a quick look..

Potter >>> Bielsa

On the booing, at the time he didn't think it was directed at Potter, and thought the booers were nuffs:

I don't think they are booing Potter.

More the missing of easy shots on goal and 9 draws in the last 10 or 11 games.

Added it's a small section of fans who are probably from Sussex and have jumped from some London team like Arsenal or Spurs because they are plastics.

On manager of the season..

How does Potter not get a gig before Howe, Viera or Frank?

Finished behind Newcastle and Palace last season and now we're above those two and Brentford on the table.

Absolutely I did.

We played some shit awful football under Potter.

Why do you think he got booed in the first place? Because we were playing some utterly boring ineffectual football and scoring no goals.

Potter only started winning the majority of fans over fully last season. Before then the jury was definitely still out for many.

Your perception is false though. It's all about the situation.

There was no animosity towards Bissouma or White for moving on. There was towards that lying little grub Cucurella as an example.

Different situations elicit different responses.

I mean I just quoted you saying the booing wasn't directed at Potter..

I said he's a decent manger. Can't you read?

I said he's also got a high opinion of himself and can't handle any criticism. He did do things that made it look like he thought he was smarter than he actually is.

Those two things can be true at the same time. Right?

I wouldn't have booed back then, but I'd boo him now just to see his reaction.

Yes I can read. :)

It was directed at the shitty performances and zero goals.

As already quoted, Tuchel didn't take it personally. Potter absolutely did and that to a lot of fans showed his ego up.

How dare the fans not be satisfied with what was being dished up. They need to be educated so they could be as enlightened as GP was.

Why wouldn't fans look at that as being the thoughts of someone up themselves?

Boehly has gone from playing FM to spoiling the broth haha.

By the sounds of things we are moving towards a multi-club model that a few others are already doing. I guess they'll are have their specific roles.
Yep. Ruining football in a whole new way for you guys. Congratulations.

Surprised you havent started a "Todd Talk" thread lol

Gabby Jesus - 5 goals in 13 games in all comps in 1075 minutes.
Darwin Nunez - 6 goals in 13 games in all comps in 636 minutes.

One is the signing of the season for Arsenal, the other is a huge flop.

Have you watched much of Jesus this season? You are also forgetting assists and overall impact to their respective teams friend. 9 GA in 11 appearances in the league for Jesus. 4 GA in 7 appearances for Nunez plus a red card.

Jesus has 3 assists in all comps. Nunez has 1. So its 8 goal contributions for Jesus compared to 7 for Nunez and Nunez has played half the minutes.

Considering Arsenal have been flying and Liverpool have been struggling. Jesus knows the league and speaks the language, Nunez is new in England and speaks no English and got himself sent off. I mean... he's not doing too badly to be fair.

I'm still on the fence though if I'm honest. :D

Arsenal are flying and you guys are not having both bought a striker. Wonder who has had the bigger impact ;)

This is the same as Zidane saying Haaland would be a bigger loss to City than Jesus to Arsenal. Reeks of people who don't actually watch football and just look at stats on an Excel page.

Has three according to whoscored.

Also I'm just saying Nunez isnt quite the flop people are trying to say he is. Not yet anyways.
