This is another example of the consequences of a sporting organisation negotiating TV agreements with the view to extracting every possible last dollar, rather than the best outcome for all stakeholders. Who cares Real Madrid dominated Europe for the last decade with 5 UCL and 3 in a row. Players like Messi destroyed their clubs finances while being carried by Xavi and Iniesta in the early days and Neymar in 2015. Everyone knew they couldn't afford the contract raise every year yet Messi and his greedy tax dodging dad pocket it all.

Florentino has shown how to build the best club and sustain it. Barca are a small club run by charlatans.
