ā€œVery few people know my name is Casimiro, because my mother’s surname is spelt with an ā€œiā€, not an ā€œeā€: Casimiro.,ā€ the player explained.

ā€œWhen I played in Brazil, there was a game in Sao Paulo when people incorrectly named me Casemiro.

ā€œI played very well that game and I decided that people should keep calling me Casemiro, with the ā€œeā€. It has no changed since.ā€

I think our spending is focused on way too much in the media, Pretty much every article on transfer spending will have a reference to us, or a picture of our players. And I can't remember the last game on TV that hasnt made a reference to the cost of our squad, whereas other teams that have spent as much seem to get a free pass.

The reality is our big spending days were over half a decade ago, when we pretty much rebuilt the squad ready for Pep. Others spend as much or more than us nowadays.

Of course our spending before that has played a part in that, which is why in the end these sort of charts are a bit of fun but pointless.

By the same token, when we were spending big and being slagged for it, people never pointed out that the clubs we were trying to compete with had that big squad of saleable assets that helped immensely with the appearance of being frugal, while we had to build pretty much from scratch.

I think it will get better for us next year, we'll have some big money sales I think, and we have the squad that needs tweaking, not overhauling.

I'll be here for it. So will Moh.

I know its the triggering N word, but City in this surprised me

They spent a shitload 2013-2018. Even by todays standards. Dont worry they will revert to type in the next few summer windows - Abu Dhabi will not want to be outspent by Boehly & co.

This season might be a bit of a wake up call for FSG as well. Time to spend some cash to close the gap.

PMSL.

I guess thats what smart clubs do.
One of things that's to our advantage is that we are willing to let players go at their peak. Helps the bottom line, look at some of the other clubs on that list and they hold on to players until the end of contracts (or nearing it) or they wait until a decline before they get rid.

Sane, Torres, Jesus, Sterling, Zinchenko we would have been happy to stay. But we would have had a year or two more out of them and they would have left on free or cheap.

Bernardo, Laporte, Cancelo likely in the same boat this summer. There's a fair bit of value in those three alone before you look at fringe/kids who should bring in £50m plus by themselves.

They did, they spent it on forwards instead of midfielders. They still have Coutinho money to spend

You're going to run that joke into the ground faster than Zidane does.
