Yeah a real waste of a career.

Say he gets done and you guys have to cut him loose / terminate his contract. Does that mean your books take a hit on his unamortised value in one go? If so, it would almost be better to keep him on the books than terminating his contract. Because that would be a big hit to meeting PSR on the accounting period where the termination falls.

Comparing it to the Paul Pogba case. Any ban applies from the start of the initial suspension, which for Mudryk is 17 December 2024. Pogba got a 4 year ban, reduced to 18 months. If the same happened to Mudryk he could be playing again in June 2026. He would only be 25 years old and half way through his Chelsea contract.
