Crystal Palace's participation in the Europa League is getting interesting.

There was a challenge because John Textor owns significant stakes in Palace and Lyon. UEFA rules prevent multiple teams under one multi-club ownership structure competing in the same European competition. But now Lyon have been relegated and had their Europa place stripped due to the poor state of their finances. Lyon are appealing. Textor has agreed a deal to sell his 43% share in Palace.

It’s odd that even the PL is becoming Americanised. Next years World Cup final will apparently feature a halftime show and I saw during the CWC game I watched, each and every player coming out of the tunnel one by one before the match and the players name announced over the PA system to the crowd. It looked stupid and I wish it was only because the tournament is in America, like next years World Cup is. But nope, even the PL is following suit.
