To be fair the new Allianz is a very nice stadium to watch football in.

What's the story with the Allianz pitch? Looked shitty during the Sydney derby even though it's just been redone and it's been a pretty good summer for pitch regeneration.

I have no idea

The drainage is horrendously bad. Doesn't have to rain much and the ground becomes waterlogged.

“It was one of the worst fields I’ve played on for a while, especially with the fields these days as they’re normally pretty quick and I didn’t think it rained that much,” Gutherson said during the post-match press conference.

Wasn't that just fixed after being shut for months? Lol.

Brand new venue, pretty big **** up.

I know they've been trying to fix it. Not sure where it's currently at with that.

Absolutely embarrassing for a brand new stadium.

Going to be a shitshow in winter with rugby use.
That's where it really first presented with the issue. There's been a number of NRL games that have been played in essentially monsoonal conditions, despite the rain falling not being that impressive.

Was the old SFS that bad? I went to a few big blue clashes there and it seemed fine.

Not at all.

That ground was well due an upgrade though, it was actually unsafe in one part of the stadium.

That in itself is a joke. Only built in 1988.
It wasn't well known but there was a pinch point in the layout of the old stadium. They'd have been in trouble had they ever needed to do a mass evacuation.

I remember it feeling very tight when I went to the Wallabies and England back in 2016.

It was on the back side that was up against the road. The concourse narrowed to about 3-4 people wide.

I was staggered it was ever signed off tbh.

Was that the reason the entire stadium was scrapped despite being relatively new? What a ****up that was and what a waste of taxpayer money.

For something built in 1988 that's bloody ridiculous.

Might've played a part, I'm obviously not privy to that information.

Out of interest, how long do you think a stadium should last?

As long as they're maintained correctly they should last a very, very long time. Your Leicester stadium is going to be around your whole life pretty much.

There must have been severe issues for SFS to be completely scrapped as opposed to a major renovation. That's not normal for a 32 year old stadium.

Docklands is approaching 30 years old and pretty sure there's no plans to scrap it / rebuild it.

I think that will become more common place but the technological advances from 1988 to now is quite significant.

Any stadium built in the last 10-15 years I would expect to last a lot longer than one from the 80's.

What an absurd shitfight this is. Ronaldo has spat the dummy because he wants to have a say on how the pro league is run:

Is there a higher paid person in the world doing nothing than this guy right now?

Donald Trump.

I’d say there’s plenty of rich people in the world doing nothing.
