They're different figures because they're different articles. I was talking about figures from 2 separate articles.

By your logic, i should just make up the figures rather than reference the article at all. At least then they'd be consistent for you...

That's not what he or I mean by you being maddeningly inconsistent mate. Bring back your ostrich avatar, more apt.

Well that's exactly what we were talking about. I've explained why the conversations were different, there's not much more I can say. I'll take on board that the both of you consider me inconsistent.

Anyway, this is killing my Friday buzz. Happy to let this go now?

Chelsea good value for money there. Utd, City, Arsenal - not so much. But if you can afford it, it's not a big concern obviously.

On the plus side for us, the sales wouldn't have included Negredo (£26m). And the wage figures would have been last seasons where we got a league title for our troubles.

Valid. Also wouldn't include Bony though.

I don't think it's a major deal (apart from clubs like QPR), just thought it was interesting to see where each club ranked.

Would have thought Bony would have been included. What was our total figure?

Sorry, refresh my memory.

That Hull were well equipped to come straight back up if you were to go down?

Yep. That we would have a similar season to that of Norwich - keeping majority of the squad together, and being financially capable of holding out for good money in the event that we do sell.

Oh wait, sorry Negredo is on loan isn't he? Being sold this summer?
Yeah. Loan with a guaranteed sale at the end of the season.

Yeah I think you'd be pretty well sorted. The only thing would be if Bruce was to leave, you'd want to make sure whoever came in was good but that's not even something to worry about just yet.

Schurrle will attend Chelsea's last match of the season vs. Sunderland to receive a Premier League medal after an invitation from Mou. Great stuff.

Didn't know that was a thing.

Used to be that you had to make 10 appearances to get a medal, but now they just hand out a set number and let the clubs decide who they want to give one to.

Shirley has made 14 appearances this season anyway, so not that out of order for him to get one.

Owning Madrid fans is glorious.

Him (as a status): I'll be the first one to highlight what a pathetic outing that was. You scored early. Why would you sit back, soak up pressure and then let an away goal in. Props to Juve, they parked the bus, defended well and got it done. Madrid, what a disappointing year.

Me: What shiny new toy is gonna come next season to try and topple Barca? [to no avail - so I went in again later in the day]

Over €1B outlay in the last 12 seasons and all you have to show for it is one CL. How embarrassing. (four crying laughter smilies followed this post)

Him: And when was the last time Arsenal won a major trophy? That's bold come from an arsenal supporter hahaha

Me: If we spent a billion Euros we'd win everything under the sun, unlike, ya know, Madrid.

Him: LOL you're dreaming. Your team can't even attract top class players mate. Stop living in the invincible's era, that's long gone.

Me: Billion Euros mate. ONE. BILLION. EUROS. And for one CL trophy? How embarassing.

What shiny new toy is gonna come in next season only to lose to Barca again?

You know what's really ironic? A player who cost you nothing, knocked you out of the CL.

Him: Mate, just because your team doesn't have money or can't attract world class players don't get jealous of other teams. We all know Wenger is way past his use by date and your team will continue to aim for a top 4 finish and simply getting past the group stage of the champions league. It's not even worth debating with you simply because, well Arsenal.

Me: We have plenty of money. We don't have the help of the federal bank though to finance us.

I don't debate that about Wenger, don't think anybody with a modicum of intelligence would.

None of the above excuses how poor Madrid has been despite its outlay on players. Look at the names you brought in and between all of them only one CL? Wow!

(a mutual friend): Football is a business and RMs revenue last year alone was 750million. The club is worth 3.5 billion dollars. Spending money to make money.. Arsenal on the other hand dont get me started

Me: Trophies > revenue

Him: Both arsenal lack ^

Me: What do Arsenal have to do with Real Madrid being poor?

Every time you have brought Arsenal up like they are the reason Madrid have failed. I'm confused by it. So, tell me their relevance in this conversation, or are you just attacking my club because you have nothing else to say?

Him: Ohhhh did that get to you? First and foremost, there was no relevance to this conversation from the start, you proceeded to comment again simply because you didn't get a reaction from me the first time. Secondly, the only one attacking any club here is you as you continually and enviously comment about how much money we have and that we continually buy top class players. Put it this way if arsenal had any money to blow they would, but simply don't. Thirdly, ill have something to say until the cows come home, but I find that I'm wasting my time replying to your comments on my status' as your arguments are what a frustrated supporter who hasn't seen major trophies come to his club that he follows would say. Face it, your Arsenal are not what they used to be in Europe. Nor, will they ever be as prestigious as some of the top clubs in Europe. That's all I'm gonna say. End of it

[this is when I really apply the burn]

Me: No, it didn't. I just did not see the relevance Arsenal have in regard to Madrid failing despite spending so much. I asked questions, you failed to answer them without clutching at straws bringing my club into the argument hoping it would work (hint, it didn't). The names you have brought in over the years have been nothing short of spectacular - Zidane, Ronaldo x2, Beckham, Bale, Figo & the list goes on, and to think you went trophyless for a season - wow!

There was relevance, you posted a comment about your side losing, I brought up their spending history, it's not that's unwarranted.

I make comments about your club because I see you make comments, and no, not envious at all. Nice try though man, I like it, but incorrect on this occasion (again).

You think Arsenal don't have money? We sit seventh on the list of the world's richest clubs. That is not rich? Bizarre if you think so. If you're going to make a statement like that, as least make sure it's going to be even a little right.

http://sporteology.com/top-10-richest-football-clubs-in.../ That link will show you who sits where. "Arsenal’s annual turnover is $487 million and Total Value is $1,310,000,000" (that's over a billion dollars). Juventus must be absolute minnows if they're sitting in ninth only making $353 million a year!

I've seen major trophies, one last year in fact, and another potentially to come at the end of this month. You've also contradicted yourself nicely. You said earlier " simply getting past the group stage of the champions league", then you went on to say "Arsenal are not what they used to be in Europe", which would imply they were once a force. One or the other mate? Which one is it gonna be?

I don't think I've ever said Arsenal will be among the most prestigious clubs in Europe. Madrid, United & Barca are miles ahead of anyone else and it would be foolish to think otherwise.

Without wanting to get in the way of this lovers tiff...

Good to see Rafa, the European genius make it a through to another final against Dnipro in the morning.

Oh wait.

And I believe Hamsik started on the bench too. Anyone know why?
So you're actually taking a pot shot at a bloke who has won two UEFA Cups and one European Cup. Seems to me he is pretty decent in Europe, getting to the semi finals of another major european tournament too.

Wait, United are prestigious in Europe? With their huge sum of 4 European trophies?

:D
