Are we the only region to have a women's player on the cover?

Seems strange that they'd only have it on one of the multiple regions.

Also, lol Henderson. Should've been Aguero.
I think there was only a vote for 3 or 4 regions.
Australia and USA were the only 2 regions with females in the vote and IIRC, all 3 options for the US were women, so they too would have a woman on the cover.

I'd say compare to the past 3-4 decades Henderson would have to be one of the most underwhelming Liverpool captains

It's not about the ability of a player but force of personality. Being the big personality, having that aura, being the alpha. Henderson isn't any of that. He's a solid worker sure, he makes some noise on the pitch, but no more than say Dirk Kuyt did. Kuyt was great, but I wouldn't have made him captain

Paul Ince was a dick but he was a big personality, he has that about him. I'd compare to Henderson to Jamie Redknapp and Sami on Redknapp was a big upgrade captain wise. And I think Redknapp would be a better choice than Henderson as captain now, hypothetically

In fact I think when the going got tough last season, Henderson went missing far too often

Good luck to him, I like him, hope he prove sme wrong, I just absolutely would not have made him captain
It's an interesting one. What I love about Henderson is that he sets an example. He works so hard. So the young kids and even older pro's can see his work ethic and be inspired by it. What I love about Henderson is he wants to prove everyone wrong. He had a difficult first season at Liverpool and was given the choice to be let go. He said no, got to work and proved to everyone that he belonged at Liverpool. He has since gone on to become one of our most important players.

So now more doubt as to whether he can be a leader or be a great captain. I'm sure he will take that on with his usual enthusiasm and hard work and no doubt prove everyone wrong again.

To be fair to him as well, anybody following Stevie was going to be pushing shit up hill. Hardest act to follow ever. I think he will grow into the role personally. But it's also going to make him a better player.

Knowing Hendo's work ethic and want to prove himself, he will take on the captaincy and work tirelessly to make himself better, make the team better. Ive seen him want to take pens and FK's and he works in training to make himself better at them. He wants to try to do everything Stevie did. He of course will never be as good but the captaincy will just make him work that much harder to again move his game up another level and that can only be good for the club IMO.

A youth player who comes through and plays say 100-200 games for the club. Actually has some kind of impact.
Cool. Evans, Brown, Sheasy, Clevs probably, Dat Guy Welbz. A couple of the kids who played last season I'd expect to kick on and meet this criteria as well as a few jets in our u21s you'll see in a couple of years injuries permitting.

I really rated Sheasy, was Mr Dependable, maybe not the most gifted but always had a crack and have his all. Every club needs players like that

No mate. You said playing 100-200 games = making an impact. Besides, those players aren't shit, they are all international players who have won multiple league titles. Nothing to be sneezed at.
Yet none are still at the club right? Outside of Evans, is Evans still there. All not good enough for Manchester United.

Anyways you said something along the lines of having the best academy in the world or something which is why I perked up, because that right there, it complete bullshit. :)

Players get old Jod. Like Stevie. Then we take them out back. If players contributing to UCL and EPL titles does not count as significant, well then......pour some more coke on your keyboard. Only 1 club in world football produce more 1st team players than United and that's Barca. Barca haven't produced a 1st team regular since 08 but that doesn't mean that La Masia is suddenly shit.

BTW, i said United had a great pedigree of bringing youth players through which is undeniably true.

Players get old? Clevs, Welbeck werent old. O'Shea played for years after leaving United, same for Brown. They didnt leave United cos they were old, they left United cos they werent good enough. They were fringe players at best.

You havent produced a player from your academy that is a star since the class of 92 really.

As for my keyboard, Im drinking a Choc Chill right now. Milk may be worse for keyboards though.

Brown and O'shea left when their best years were behind them. Brown had a great 08 UCL final vs Chelsea. Provided the assist for Ronnie. Clevs and Welbs didn't make the grade but will have good careers elsewhere and I'm sure they'll get over how shit they are when they look in their trophy cabinet at home and see all those England caps. Star players are hard to find Jod, by your criteria only Soton have a decent academy, everyone else is shit.

Agree with everything Bojan has said, O'Shea and Brown were never world beaters but they played their roles well and made some very important contributions to the team. O'Shea in particular became a key player for us in European campaigns due to his versatility, he literally played in every single position for the club at one stage or another.

I'd absolutely love to have another O'Shea at the club right now tbh.

O'Shea is classed as an academy product because he wasn't signed as a first team player and his first few years at the club were actually spent in the academy setup. His only senior appearances were in the League Cup for the first few years after he signed with United.
