A patently untrue joke about cleaning up messes is different to just having a go at someone's weight, surely you can see the difference there

I reserve Mourinho's right to say what he said, but you would've thought someone who's won as much as Mourinho and with his standing in the game would behave with a little bit more class, but then again he is the one that eye gouges assistant managers and harass referees

Firing RDM and bringing in Rafa is the equivalent of Pool firing Kenny and replacing him with Moyes. You'd be pissed off too.

I do see the difference, I just think being told you are crap at your job is a bigger insult than being called fat.

Plus staying classy is something Mou has always struggled with.

Jose is a proud man with his coaching so no surprise that he put her in back in line after being critical of what he has done. Bring Rafa's weight into it was totally unnecessary but brought the lolz and it wouldn't hurt TFSW to lose a couple of kg.

????? how does LVG live in Cruyff's shadow, certainly not in terms of managerial success? He's the first to admit that Cruyff was the best dutch player he's seen. Van Gaal rarely talks about Cruyff, Cruyff seems very bitter about something. Cruyff doesn't believe in any other philosophy outside of total football.

The legacy LVG leaves is through the promotion of some of the best players over the last 20 years into their respective first teams. A lot of coaches aren't brave enough to do that, in fact it is very rare and has cost him his job at a couple of clubs but those clubs have benefited hugely from the experience.

At times, but that can also be a bit simplistic - retaliation needs to be proportionate to the provocation. For example, if you push me gently, it would be disproportionate for me to knock you out.

Mourinho's comments were fair, until the last remark about Benitez's weight.

There is plenty of history between Rafa and Mou but that is a very high profile person with plenty of young kids who look up to him. Young Chelsea fans. So to them, it's ok to bully someone about their weight.

For me, it's poor form and he shouldnt say stuff like that. He already had the banter by saying Rafa ruined Inter.

I like Jose, he is great for the EPL and for football but he was really off in that comment. It's setting a real bad example for young kids.
