shitty news in italy concerning parma, who are literally so broke that they can't afford to host the game against udinese. they've already had points deducted due to financial irregularities, and are pretty much dead certain to be relegated. some players like cassano have walked out due to not being paid for months. i believe their owner is facing charges concerning what he's doing with the money.

at least platini has put in structures to ensure this doesn't happen anymore. now just for him to come in and save them. any time now.

jd2010 - What's the possibility of obtaining away tickets? :p
Yeah, seriously contemplating Southampton-Tottenham right now, as well as Crystal Palace-Hull City and QPR-West Ham with the Arsenal-Chelsea game being moved to the 26th.

EDIT: I'll probably go to Portsmouth for the day for the Naval museum. But Southampton or one of the 2 London games wouldn't be out of the question if tickets were easily obtainable.

Away tickets a near on impossible to get. I've struggled to get simple QPR-Tottenham & WBA-Tottenham away tickets this season.

Fair enough, Milang not a member, SM not a member, QPR-West Ham minimal interest.

Might just join the old folks for the day at Portsmouth and see the Naval Museum.

Not a bad ANZAC Day. Morning service at Hyde Park corner, then head down to Portsmouth and see the HMS Victory, HMS Warrior etc.

So after locking away Eden we have sold his brother, Thorgan, to Monchengladbach. But there is a buy back clause. Another piece of good business by the club.

only just saw right now that parma have 118 players on their books. 92 of them are out on loan.

that's absolutely crazy. the majority will likely become free agents should the fiorentina scenario play out
That's nuts.

I honestly think they need to bring in a cap for the number of senior players clubs have on the books. Having 118 players is just absurd.

That's insane! Especially for a club under financial difficulty - granted a lot of them are out on loan and presumably have some or all of their wages being paid by the borrowing club.

Quite the fall from grace for Parma - weren't they competing for the European spots about 10 or so years ago?

Swiss ramble blog has a new article on the Premier League TV rights deal. http://swissramble.blogspot.com.au/

The projected deal for 2016/17 of £2.7 billion a season is almost as much as the combined revenue from the deals for Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and La Liga, which is worth around £2.9 billion. In fact, if we were to use the current Euro exchange rate of 1.35, then it would actually be higher.

When's chelsea vs Tottenham final on?

Anyone watched Jack to a King? Just downloaded it, may be on youtube too.

Was fairly interesting but could have been better with some more on Swansea's rise up the leagues, sort of spent a heap of time on them surviving and the board taking over and then nek minnut winning the playoff.

Saw this on twitter this morning. :D

That 'no footballing history' is the main key for me.
They've never ****ing qualified for the World Cup. Why give them automatic inclusion?
They've even got a losing record in AFC Asian Cup (6-11-15)
I could tolerate Iran and even Saudi Arabia, but there's no one else West of China in Asia I'd consider giving it to.

Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran. They're the 6 Asian nations who are legitimate hosts. I'd even consider Uzbekistan on footballing ability and UAE on their economic strength before places like Qatar.

Would've said Iraq too, but that's probably not safe for fans/players etc.

Would agree on all those points DB. I'll be very interested to see how the European leagues and clubs react to/deal with the recommendation of staging the WC in November and December - that'll cause pretty big disruptions to the domestic seasons.

Would be nice to see Iraq hosting a Asian Cup or something one day (obviously once the nation and surrounding areas have stabilised enough to ensure it's safe).
