OK. That time-wasting wasn't fun. From about the 4th minute I was pissed at the ref for just pointing at his watch instead of making them hurry-up. As if the time-on made up for the constant disruption and loss of momentum. He clearly didn't want to give a yellow and potentially be the story of the game.
The funny part was you didn't need to hurry up. A draw would have been a good result for you and we were still in the hunt. Liverpool got frustrated when they shouldn't have and seeing Suarez clap Schwarzer for taking his time confirmed we were right in your heads.

I much prefer this Liverpool vs Chelsea game:

The day arrogance was put in its place. Massive lols at Mourinho booking somewhere to celebrate the win pre game.

A great time to be alive some may say.

Yeah but...

Good thread.

Anyway we have a deal in place with NAC Breda. We have two of ours on loan there already but I expect that will be a regular thing now. Hopefully get them promoted this season. Will be a good pathway.

Didn't need to, no, but when you had played that way successfully for 13 matches it is arguable that suddenly switching up would have been riskier. And definitely more boring. Mourinho was trying to prove a point that 'boring' works by celebrating so much despite their lack of ambition that game (and from memory there was nothing to play for Chelsea-wise, but you say 'we were still in the hunt'?).

As shown in the gif above, Stevie does make a major error about once every 50 games; sometimes for us, sometimes for England. If Stevie didn't slip, then we would've got a draw anyway, or better considering he then spent most of the game trying to score by himself. But it was up to the referee to stop the blatant time-wasting before that and afterwards. He didn't stick to the rules even when it was obvious from early on what was going on. Disappointing.

Gerrards big cockup wasnt the slip. It was 45 minutes spent trying for the Stevie Me Hollywood goal that followed.

It really was a masterclass in naivety from Rodgers that day. Mourinho did him like a kipper.

The two year anniversary of this incredible moment in sporting history was yesterday...

"This does not f***ing slip now!" were the famous words of Steven George Gerrard after Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3 - 2 at Anfield. Phillip Coutinho scored the winner as Liverpool edged closer towards winning their first ever Premier League title. Nothing could stop this brave leader with his army of red men behind him. The title was in their sights...

Stay tuned for part two.

Take it to the Bay.

Just purposely trying to start a shit fight.

Surprised mods havent deleted it yet.

No automatic red for a penalty?
Havent read it in full but I think a misstimed tackle (not a pull or something like that) that denies a goal scoring opportunity is a yellow.

Few rule changes coming up next year. Most significant is the softening of the automatic red card for DOGSO.

Saw this yesterday and meant to post in here. Good move I think, it's been talked about for years.

Also scrapping the must pass forward from kick off which I've never understood.

Also player injured from a tackle resulting in a yellow/red card can be treated on pitch which I love because I've always hated that you can injure the opposition and actually end up benefiting your side.

Neither good enough with the ball. Both quick, both good movement, both can hold up ok but don't really get too involved in the build up.

Look at someone like Bony, quality at Swansea but doesnt really look comfortable doing what we're asking him to do.

Have you watched any of Origi??

Not good enough with the ball suggests that you havent.
