What do you guys rate as the best nicknames in world football?

Here are a few of my favourites.

Roberto Baggio - Il Divino Codino (The Divine Ponytail)
Robbie Fowler - God
Leo Messi - La Pulga (The Flea)
Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu - Dave
Luis Suarez - El Pistolero (The Gunslinger) or The Cannibal of Ajax or the Vampire of Montevideo
Jon Flanagan - Scouse Cafu
Andres Iniesta - El Cerebro (The Brain)
Phillipe Lamb - The Magic Dwarf
Phillipe Coutinho - The Magician
Frank Ribery - Scarface
Eusebio - Pantera Negra (The Black Panther)
Fitz Hall - One Size

Some classics in there...
Il Prinicpino (Marchisio)
Del Piero - il Capitano, il Pinturicchio (This nickname arose when former president Gianni Agnelli compared the emerging talent Del Piero to the renaissance artist Pinturicchio, who was the student of the great Italian renaissance artist "Rafaello", a nickname he had used to describe Baggio, to emphasise his elegance on the ball.)
Pirlo - Mozart
Nedved - Furia Ceca (The Czech Fury)
David Trezeguet - Trezegol
Fabio Cannavaro - Il Muro di Berlino" ("The Berlin Wall")
Zidane - Zizou

That statement isnt by Ings. Just a Liverpool fan on Facebook I think.

Lot of holes in the dads story too, including at least three things that were clearly made up.

Well City fans who were at the game apologised for the conduct of a small percentage of fans, but it's good of you to suggest the Dad was full of it.

Are they City supporters that witnessed what happened or City supporters thst were at the game (like I was) and didnt know anything about it until it appeared in the Liverpool Echo?

Like I said at least three things the dad said happened clearly didnt. One of them is a physical impossibility due to the design of the stadium. Just a flat out lie that couldnt have possibly happened.

People who do recognise the dad said that he was stood up joining in with the "Manchester is full of shit" chants, and generally carried on like a balloon in front of the home supporters. He got abuse for it before being moved to the away end.

I'm sure you'll believe what you want to believe.

Watching a doco on van Nistelrooy, bloody hell he could finish. Brilliant finisher and one of the best I have seen in my time.

Give him a chance in the box and he was almost certain to score. Brilliant striker.

He claimed he got tickets through Everton in the neutral end. Never has been a neutral end, and we don't sell tickets in home areas to away supporters (other than hospitality). I suspect he got them independently as he was at the end of the Colin Bell stand furthest away from the Everton supporters. Stewards won't let anyone in the home gates wearing the other teams stuff (as he apparently was), although that policy might be relaxed in disabled areas.

He said that he was forced to go through City supporters through the stands to the away end rather than go through internal tunnels. Wheelchair access at our stadium is only via an internal tunnel. To walk through the wheelchair area from one bay to another you have to climb over two sets of boxes/barriers containing first aid and other equipment. You can't get a wheelchair through them unless you lift it over the top (probably about 3 foot high).

He said that City fans were trying to climb over the segregation to get at him and his son. He was in a home area at the other end of the stadium to the Everton fans. Why would there be segregation?

There's also a picture of him and his son in the Everton area (presumably after being moved). The kid was looking like he was having a great time.

I don't get how people can complain with being told to F off when they sit in the home end as an away fan. Seriously. What goes through their head?!

This doesn't surprise me. I'm pretty sure he has a charity to help either disabled or under-privileged kid or both in the North of England that he puts a lot of time and money into. I was disappointed when he chose Liverpool over us at the start of the season because he seems like a really good human being and a quality footballer as well, but I'm pretty sure the allure of being close to his charity organisation was one of the main reasons he decided to stay up North.
Was probs cos we offered him more money. :D

Nah, let's go with you reason, he does seem like a top bloke. Cant wait to get him back actually. He was just starting to score goals before his injury.

Haha well that also, but his charity is apparently entirely self-funded and he has a lot of time he invests into it's operation. I can't find any quotes about that being one of the reasons he wanted to play up North but I remember in the speculation about where he would sign a few pundits made mention that he would take his charity work into consideration.

Anyway, he seems like a really good guy.

If Man U manage to beat LCFC, just as they've scraped by v Villa and Palace, and Spurs win the rest of their games, then it will come down to Chelsea v Leicester on the last day.

Question is: does Chelsea finally see a chance for relevance this season and try and beat the Foxes; or would they rather not help Spurs get the title?

I'd like to think Chelsea would be trying to win the game regardless of what the potential outcome is.
It's not that they won't be trying to win. More of a case of indifference toward the result where Leicester will be like a bunch of foxes chasing their next meal. I'd be very surprised if Leicester don't get 3 points should the title be on the line.

Everton did it two years ago. A chance to dent City and hand us the title. They even scored the first goal then promptly gave up to make sure we couldnt win the title. campaigners.
