dinamo moscow have been relegated for the first time in their 93 year history. chris samba is their cb. i fail to see how it is a coincidence.

cska end up winning the league, ensuring the fairytale rostov win doesnt end up occurring.
Can't believe David Bentley went on loan to Rostov a few years ago. No wonder he fell out of love with the game

They'll get more revenue because there'll be less dead rubber games and there'll be less midweek games which get very poor turnouts in league one and two.

Poor turn out is better than no turn out. Three less home games for the season is bad.

Gotta say the state of football in Germany, France and Italy is truly awful being ruined by the cartels that is Bayern, PSG and Juve having all won cups today to back up their league titles.

At least there's healthy competition in say England, Spain and Portugal

Spain obviously is the benchmark with their teams performing domestically and internationally, but England and Portugal are at least doing their brands no harm. But yeah, it's concerning for mine seeing how money dominates other competitions.
If you took out Bayern, Germany would have an amazing league to follow.

France and Italy just don't do anything for me.

Not necessarily running costs for a mid week game in the middle of winter could be not worth it. Been to a few championship mid week games that would have lost money for Fulham, QPR and Brentford. The gate takings would have not covered the appearance fees and running costs

Most lower league clubs are unhappy with the lost home games so they must make money.

They naturally don't like change. They're also the same clubs who complain about playing 46 league + cup games and the strain it has on their resources. The same sets of clubs with supporters who only fill 30-40% of the stadium on a midweek night who fill the place on a Saturday, so obviously 23 games is too much for them to go to as well

It's such an English mentality to think "oh new idea, don't like it" but then whinge about the current situation being shit. But when an alternative is presented they don't have a problem with the current formats.

OK. They've said it would lose them revenue so that's what Im going off.

It's true they've lost revenue but they've also lost expenses which often outweigh the money coming in. So actually could be better off without it. Doubt it'll come off they're so against change over there

Well I understand that part obviously, I was operating on the assumption that they meant lost revenue in terms of lost profit, as revenue is often used interchangeably if the revenue results in a profit. I guess we'll see what comes out of it.

Unfortunately I don't think clubs are smart enough to realise that revenues also incurr expenses. So when they throw remarks like that out at the FAs idea I doubt they've looked into it thoroughly

Yeah I guess we'll see.

Easy enough to sort the shortfall in revenue by just increwsing lower clubs share of premier league and champions league revenue.

I think too many are just complaining without looking at how the changes could benefit them.

Yeah thought this too but then thought that most league one and two clubs aren't profitable as is so no idea why they're so anti it. 46 league games + early rounds of the league cup and FA Cup + Johnstone paint trophy it's just too much for most clubs to handle. Easily looking at 50 odd games minimum. That surely puts strain on squads

You could say the same for Serie A though with no Juve

Roma, Napoli, Lazio, Fiorentina etc would all have bonafide chances to win the Scudetto.

Wow, that's a mammoth fall from grace for them

Samba is cursed like Steven Caulker

Celtic and Rangers in England isn't going to happen. More than enough English clubs know the end result is themselves bumped two spots down. And while Celtic and Rangers would love it, the financial gains are a lot less lucrative from the English perspective. Not to mention the SFA, FA and UEFA would all have to agree to it.

Gods, you're a cliche. We know why you want Norn Iron to do well in the Euros.
Celtic and Rangers don't really want it. It's just posturing. They know that they would barely be a playoff team in League 1 in England.
