Yes I would say Makelele is unlucky to be squeezed out. Sneijder also had a ridiculously good season that year Inter won everything.

jesus you'd be absolutely filthy

On Saturday UEFA released a statement confirming that the ban had ended and the committee had decided not to extend it, which means a final decision will be made in the coming days.

The statement read: “The 30-day provisional suspension ends today. The chairman of the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body decided not to extend it. The player would thus be free to play as from tomorrow. A decision on the case will be made within the next few days.”

Cech
Zanetti - Carvalho - Terry - Cole
Makelele
Alonso - Lampard
Ozil
Ronaldo - Zlatan

Mou would never use the lineup that was posted.

I couldnt see Mou playing 3 players up top thatll do nothing defensively(or play two strikers). Drogbas nailed on to start as his CF.

So Sakho is not actually a drug cheat. Massive stuff up from UEFA given the games he missed.

Not to mention he's missed out on going to the Euros, and the irreparable damage this smear will do to his brand marketability and lost income through sponsorship in the future. I'm sure more details will emerge in time but it sounds as though he's looking at his options with respect to suing UEFA.

Yeah devastating for Sakho to miss two of the most important events in his career due to the fault of others. Surely he would be able to carry out some some sort of legal action?

Perhaps in the future UEFA should adopt an innocent until guilty appreach. I'd be going nuts if I was Sakho & LFC should be going nuts too with Sakho missing out on the EL semis and final.

I think they don't because in general the tests are pretty foolproof, and they can use the suspension as time served. That's what happened with Livermore.

Our final champion has been decided! Moldova's finally crowned their champion!

Congrats Sheriff Tiraspol for being the final Champion!

The table as follows:

Wait a tic, you're saying that Sheriff should've won based on GD? Ha ha, Moldova's a funny place, because their tie breaker is as follows:

Rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) Play-off (only if deciding champion when two teams tied); 3) Head-to-head points; 4) Head-to-head goal difference; 5) Head-to-head away goals scored; 6) Head-to-head goals scored; 7) Goal difference; 8) Goals scored; 9) Fairplay ranking.

Yep, they had a Gold Final to determine the winner between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dacia Chișinău.

They played the game at a neutral stadium to determine the winner. Sheriff won 1-0.

Could you imagine if we had needed a playoff match to determine who gets a place like we nearly did with Liverpool and West Ham? Greg Dyke is missing a trick here, think of the money a Gold Final would bring... (Seriously, please don't. It's a silly way to determine the final winner.)

Agreed, if you record a positive test you should be suspended immediately. I think the potential other side of the coin would be worse, ie; if Sakho was allowed to play in the Europa League final and Liverpool won, and then he is confirmed to have used performance enhancing drugs. Sevilla would be livid and Liverpool's win would be tainted.
