Perhaps "fluked" isn't the right word to describe it as you say yourself. Considering you were the only champions to ever be eliminated in the group stage and were knocked out in the 1/4 finals in the preceding CL campaign that indicates quite a bit of fortune winning 11/12 in my opinion.

As for our 2005 win we backed it up with great performances over the next 4 seasons and proved that it wasn't a one off in my opinion. Was there a better performed club in Europe then us from 2005-2009?

Last season was a fluke for us. We had a young inexperienced squad worth far less than established teams like City & Chelsea and were helped by United being in transition. 2nd was a fluke for us last season.

Absolutely. 4th place was the best case scenario for last season for me when we started the season. Never expected to finish above a Mourinho led Chelsea with a team full of youngsters.

Finishing 4th wouldn't have been a fluke but finishing second absolutely was as I don't think any team has gone from 7th to 2nd in the space of one season. And that was with Sakho being the only new signing of note.

Didn't ignore Barcelona at all. I'll have to dig up the UEFA coefficients from then but IIRC ourselves and Barcelona were the top 2 from 2007-2009 ( UEFA coefficients are based over the previous 5 seasons).
