Fazio: a train wreck at times early, but was part of our best CB pairing with Vertonghen (only lost 1 game out of the 14 they were partnered together)
Davies: looks decent. The pressure for a starting spot that he has brought has really risen Rose's game up quite a bit.
Dier: very good calm young CB. The right sided Vertonghen without the terrible attitude
Vorm: been ok. Obviously not used to not being #1 GK and has been rusty at times
Stambouli: the cheap alternative to Schneiderlin who doesn't look like coming off. Will judge after his 2nd season in England

Out
Gylfi: definitely shouldn't have let him go. We lack depth in that spot behind Kane and he would bring that and then some. Really should have tried to work out a way for him an Eriksen to co-exist better
Livermore: fantastic to get that much for him
Dawson: past his best did well to get a few mill for him
Iago Falque: barely played and flogged him for a few mill
Sandro: injuries have ruined him. Great business selling him for that much
Naughton: a mid-table full back. Probably shouldn't have been sold without cover being brought in though

Disappointing to see Raheem in the papers again this morning after such a good performance last night.

As one journalist brought up, it's important to remember that this kid came from the poorest part of north London, his dad was murdered when he was 9 (shocking, I did not know that) and he doesn't remember him, and naturally a lot of his friends from that area (who likely don't have any money or aspirations of their own) are going to try to grab on to his coat tails as long as they can.

Honestly I hope Rodgers sits him down for a chat to help him out, he really needs to start cutting some of the deadwood loose because this isn't the first time he's been caught up in this sort of crap when the lads come up to visit him.

a) inhaling that gas is obviously a f*cking stupid thing to do and
b) one of those disloyal little pricks that he welcomed into his home sold that picture to the papers so not only are they getting him in trouble, they're selling him out afterwards. Sounds like a delightful group of lads.

Unfortunately given his background I think this is something that's probably going to follow him for most of his career. We've just got to look after him, make sure he stays level headed and mixes with the right people. Everyone who works with or meets him says he's a really nice kid who is desperate to work hard & succeed, just comes from a pretty shitty place and there are parts of his past that he'll always struggle to leave behind.

I remember that kid Liverpool signed about 10 years ago from some war torn country in Eastern Europe.

Came on for his debut in the 80th minute with Liverpool 2-1 down. Scored two goals with his first two kicks, Liverpool won the match and he was given man of the match.

After the game he rung his parents back home to tell them the good news.

"I've got some bad news" said his mother before he could get a word in. "Your father has been beaten by a gang of thugs, the house was broken into and your sister was r*ped. Your brother has fallen in with a local crack dealing gang".

"Oh my god" said the player. "Thats awful, I'm so sorry".

"So you should be" said the mother. "It's because of you we came to Liverpool in the first place".

He will look good in a madrid white top

There has been some rumors that Ronaldinho shall retire in may.

Should do a guest stint in the A League before hanging up the boots IMO. :D

Said in the Jets thread, I think Crouch is still a premier league level player. Can't see him leaving just yet. Also his mrs has a lot of business/modelling interests in the UK so would be a big step.

I can't see Crouch making that step down yet either TBH, he could do a job for quite a few EPL sides. I wouldn't either if I were him, anyone would struggle to perform in that Jets set up.

Get what you're saying, but Chelsea would have been much worse off without Terry this year.
No doubt.

We'd probably have been relegated though.

Terry is still performing at a higher level but I don't know he's as vital to Chelsea as Cambiasso is to us. You could throw another CB into the Chelsea lineup and they'd still go on alright, albeit probably not quite as well.

Interesting they don't even mention Michael Dawson. Musn't count as a 'golden oldie' - whatever the definition is. Most have him as a close second for our POTY. He has been massive since arriving.
Born 1980 or earlier.
