So he in fact does not play for NYC at all even though they announced he did? Weird.

He signed for the CFG(City Football Group)

No, just with MCFC as it turns out.

He signed a terms of agreement with NYCFC, but that isn't a binding thing. He couldn't sign a contract with them at the time as they weren't registered on FIFA's transfer matching system.

Isn't MCFC part of the CFG umbrella?

Isn't MCFC part of the CFG umbrella?

CFG is the parent company, there is a subsidiary company for each of the CFG teams (MCFC, NYCFC, MCWFC, Yokohama, Melbourne City etc).

But for him to be registered by the premier league he would have to sign a contract with MCFC, not the parent.

Surpirsed you missed the big convo we had on here about it, Jod. Was quite an uproar at the time.
Oh I remember it and I remember the uproar and the confusion. I just kind of skimmed on it though. Which is probably why im still confused now about it because I didnt pay attention the first time around haha.

I think this quote was the most relevant:

'Before you call for the men in white coats to take me away, let me explain'.

Even he knew other Leicester supporters would think he was bonkers :D

Yeah, going to end up being a huge game. I think if we win it we're basically safe.

For anyone interested, here's a ranking of the PL clubs in terms of contributions by defenders for goals and assists.

Everton leading the way ahead of the London trio of Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham.

Obviously this ranking doesn't take into consideration how well team's defend - its purely how many goals/assists have been chalked up by a team's defenders this season.

Club | Assists | Goals | Grand Total
Everton | 10 | 6 | 16
Chelsea | 6 | 8 | 14
Arsenal | 7 | 6 | 13
West Ham United | 9 | 3 | 12
Newcastle United | 8 | 4 | 12
Manchester City | 9 | 3 | 12
Tottenham Hotspur | 5 | 4 | 9
Southampton | 3 | 6 | 9
Leicester City | 3 | 5 | 8
Crystal Palace | 4 | 4 | 8
Burnley | 6 | 2 | 8
West Bromwich Albion | 3 | 4 | 7
Stoke City | 4 | 2 | 6
Sunderland | 4 | 1 | 5
Liverpool | | 5 | 5
Manchester United | 1 | 3 | 4
Aston Villa | 1 | 3 | 4
Queens Park Rangers | 2 | 1 | 3
Hull City | 1 | 2 | 3
Swansea City | 2 | | 2

Not a fan of tables like this.
If your free kick taker is a defender like Baines, you'll naturally have more in these stats.
Would be more interested in this stat if it excluded set pieces.

Well that's inaccurate, Chester has 2 goals alone, and Elmo has scored and assisted plenty. If they're going to count Robertson (who I'm assuming they've credited for our one assist) not sure why they don't count Elmo who plays in the opposite wing back role.
