Good when that happens hey?

"I think that a significant factor, 90 per cent, in why we achieved so much is that Danny Fiszman invested £50m in the club and we were able to go to the next level," he said. "I got my first decent contract at the club, so did David Seaman, we were able to bring in Dennis Bergkamp – and that was before Arsène arrived – David Platt, Patrick Vieira, Nicolas Anelka, and were able to pay them – top players from around the world.

You keep quoting that. That quote is the only piece of "evidence" of such a thing occurring.

Now show me where in Arsenals finances that this magic £50 million is listed.....As a PLC with Shareholders Arsenal's finances are audited and no "Investment" by Fiszman is listed.

Are you saying Arsenal broke the law?

Or do you have evidence to support the claim other than a single comment by Tony Adams, who lets face it, isn't the brightest light bulb.

What would Tony Adams know after all. Not as if was there or anything.

We could always go back further to the funds that built Highbury. Or the poaching of Herbert Chapman and half of the championship winning Huddersfield team.

Who cares?
Always worth reminding people of their own clubs history when they forget about the bits that don't suit their arguments.

No evidence? Thought so.

Keep grasping at 100+ year old straws.

Keep burying your head in the clouds you flying ostrich you.

As Cruyff says, every club has businessmen to thank. Some supporters seem to have forgotten that.

Your evidence is that it's not recorded as an investment.

What if it was a gift?

Still has to be included in the clubs accounts.

The club cant just start buying players and spending money if the income does match the expenditure. The taxation office would be very grumpy.

Can go through the books in any number of ways. Sponsorship, loan, repayment of other debts, subsidiaries, bank guarantees, discounts for services provided etc. None of it itemised so accounts don't really tell us much at all.

The fact that it might not be recorded in the accounts as Adams/Bergy/Seamo slush fund is neither her nor there.

I see no reason to doubt Adams word, and I note that Arsenal have never corrected him.

And of course without significant investment you may well have be a lower league club from Woolwich at that stage.

D) Abramovich

Without his oil money the biggest "Chelsea legends" Lampard and Terry would have been Manchester United and Arsenal legends respectively.
Without your parents money you would be living on the streets. Without a computer you wouldn't be typing. Without oxygen you wouldn't be breathing.

You struggling to acknowledge they're Chelsea legends just confirms how bitter you are over it.

What a stupid comparison.

Yeah so bitter

But then there are no facts to back up the quote.

There's no reason to believe it to be true just as there is not reason to believe it's false.

A person who was directly involved has said what happened. No-one has countered this claim, or provided any evidence that he was mistaken.

Not that big a deal anyway. You had a helping hand from a rich businessman. It wasnt the first, it wasnt the last. No big deal.

True, he stole your destiny in a way.

Was Henry Norris your Abramovich?

Would have thought Zola and a few other past players are above the ones she picked.

I don't see an issue with the 3 she picked, as they are easily legends if our club who'll stack up against any from our history. I guess it comes down to personal preference

Where does Cech rank? From all reports he's been the consummate professional in tough circumstances this season.
