Yeah, no disrespect to the other guys like Terry, Drogba, Osgood, Cech etc but to me Zola is just a bit little above them.
He might of been the better player but I don't think he's more of a Chelsea legend than Terry. Agree to disagree though.

Keep burying your head in the clouds you flying ostrich you.

As Cruyff says, every club has businessmen to thank. Some supporters seem to have forgotten that.
Liked purely for the ostrich comment.

Yeah IMO Lampard is number 1, no midfielder will ever match that goal scoring record he produced.

But I imagine it would be like trying to pick your favourite kid. You could name a number of players and justify a reason for them. All legends.

Enough all. Have the discussion without getting personal or don't have it at all.

Only one person made it personal.

Yep, we do have a few to choose from.

Fair effort by us only losing 3 games(out of 51) so far over all comps, does anyone know the record over all comps in the Prem era and earlier?

Well, not counting friendlies, the United 98-99 season had 5 losses out of 63 games. They also won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to give it to United, because they did manage to get the Champions League Cup. Still, two titles is pretty good... just a pity about Bradford.

One positive: You were first from game 1, United drew their first game. (Against us... damn you Beckham! Almost at Old Trafford!)

It was a fair effort from that United side.

Bradford certainly have something to brag about.

It's pretty galling that we didn't get beaten in the Champions League but got knocked out in the R16!

It's an unusual feeling too. Last 3 seasons prior we've gone CL Final, EL Final, CL Semi Final.

Yeah, their pie chant has gone viral:

Now that is something worth bragging about! Best chant ever!

(The mascot got sacked for being too thin).

Oh, you mean beating Chelsea... that's is something to brag about too.

Not sure about all comps, but if you were to go undefeated for the rest of the season and finish with 2 losses it would definitely be a fairly noteworthy achievement. Since the turn of the century only Arsenal (2003/04 - 0 losses), Chelsea (2004/05 - 1 loss) and Liverpool (2008/09 - 2 losses) have finished the season with equal or fewer defeats.

The biggest chelsea legend? Drogba. He showed up to big matches time and time again. How many winning finals did he score in again?

Pretty sure it's 10 finals and he scored in 9 of them.

Plus all the semi's he's scored in too.

Plus he's scored a few goals against us over the years in games that were effectively title deciders. I've never had much love for Drogba but you can't deny his ability to deliver on the big stage.

He certainly loves(and performs on) the big stage.

The only issue I have with comparing nett spends in this case is about £50m sales Chelsea has made in the past few years on players that were never really part of the squad. Has as much relevance to squad comparisons as making a profit on a property deal or the stock market.

Other than that Chelsea have done very well, particularly in the money they got for Luiz and Mata, and the decision to dispense with Mata and improve the squad. Signings over the past few years have been good (in the main) and not too pricy.

I'm not sure on the period of dominance. That sort of thing is said all the time and it is hard to back up after a win (as we know more than most).

Will also be interesting to see how Chelsea (and City) bring kids through into the first team without a drop off in results/performances.
