Liverpool's natural position is now 6th or 7th, with Spurs 5th or 6th.

Both clubs have missed chances to consolidate a top 4 position in recent years though. But it's hard - you've got two plastic clubs who spend their way to success, Manchester United who are arguably the biggest club in the world and Wenger continually performing miracles year in year out. Sucks but they are the facts. Both clubs need a new stadium to give them a better shot

More salty tears from weal(d)stone. :)
No tears from me, just a rational explanation as to why it's so hard for the likes of Liverpool and Spurs to break into the top 4 and stay there.

Just a fun little note on the undefeated topic a while ago, this happened in Saudi Arabia:

Undefeated, but no title... ouch. Just like Perugia losing out to Milan in similar circumstances.

Oh, and just for reference, West Ham have officially qualified for the Europa league for being the fairest of them all: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/fair-play.html

They will start from the 2nd of July in a two legged tie.

The draw is on the 22nd, and they can play any of these teams:
http://www.footballseeding.com/european-cups/europa-league-seeding-15-16/

That's a pretty prestigious list! Newtown, Trakai, Saxan, that's what it is all about, playing the best teams in Europe!

Villa or Southampton will be the final English team for the Europa depending on the result.

For the sake of English teams in Europe, hopefully those Europa teams, especially Tottenham and Liverpool, will be doing their best to get as many points as they can, or England will only have three for the CL.

Cesc ruled out of the game against Sydney due to surgery.

Only a broken nose so it shouldn't interrupt his preseason too much. Dirty Bird style not so subtle brag time - I've sorted out tickets to the Community Shield, so no doubt I'll be watching him do battle with Delph & (if recent reports are accurate) our boy Luongo in a few months. Thinking of going to see Chelsea v Fiorentina and whichever former Soviet Bloc side Liverpool are drawn against in Europa League qualifying if that's on then as well.
