Payet played well for Les Bleus DBAH0 .

Really his last chance for the NT. Would love to see him as a squad player for Euro 2016. He definitely deserves a spot.
Saw on Twitter he had an assist from a corner.

For the set piece ability alone, he should be there, but they have so many options for the attacking midfield / wing spots.

Watching a bunch of average players run about passing it backwards and sideways and hoofing it into the box is not my idea of a good time.
You actually couldn't be more wrong. Very few, if any, A-League teams play that style. Most of them play it on the deck and at a very high tempo. That description of the A-League might have been accurate in it's fledgling years but it's not now. This season apparently has highest goals per game ratio in the league's history with an average of about 3 per game. It's an exciting league with the top 5 or 6 being of a fairly high and similar quality, 2 points separate the top 4 teams with 3 games to go.

I honestly can't stand that Euro snob attitude that is prevalent in the Australian football community. Sure it might not be that standard of the Premier League, but it's our own league and one of which we can be proud. The cultural cringe in relation to football in this country is incredibly frustrating.

Just not for me. A-League is boring. We have playoffs and a finals system. That's not football.

That's just an Australian sporting cultural difference. I don't watch A-League either, for different reasons.

I hate it though. It's not football.

That's not the only reason why I dont watch it. The main thing is I simply have no emotional connection to it. No team to support. You cant force it. You either are drawn to Perth Glory, my home town side, or you're not. Im simply not.

Whereas that actually impresses me. Sport in this country tends to have finals attached to it. I like that they've adapted the game to suit and pay respect to the culture - as opposed to pigheadedly refusing to do so as it's not the way it happens in Europe. Well, we're not in Europe.

Not just Europe. All over the world. Except America and Australia. Winning the league means something. Not in Australia though. It's backwards.

Some Euro countries have something like a play-off system. Belgium for example.

Yes and I like it. That's our culture. You know what European culture brings to football here? Flares.

When have either been at the AFL, NRL etc?

So maybe it's not the be all and end all. European culture and attitudes towards football and Australia etc made me hate this game as a school student, what you'd call that "wog" attitude. I hated that. Now I don't interact with any of those plebs I can see the beauty in the game.

Meh. Finishing first in the league and having it mean pretty much **** all isnt football for me. Just my opinion. But that's just one of the many issues I have with the A-League and why I have no interest in it.

All reservations I had before getting into A League football.
You really just need to give it a go. Nothing beats regular match day experience IMO. Just try it for a season mate I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised like I was.

Sorry mate, their has to be an emotional connection. I just dont have one with the Glory. So ive no interest in going.

Matchdays are of course great, ive been to Anfield plenty of times for that experience and followed Liverpool around Australia when they have come.

"He did it against France, that's for sure, and does it for Tottenham," said Hodgson, when asked about Dier's ability to protect the defence.

"I've been very impressed so have called him up with Drinkwater, who does a similar job for Leicester City.

"They're still in the shadow of Jack Wilshere, who did so well for us before his injury. If all three were available for the Euros, that'd be a nice headache because there might not be space for all three."
