Brendan's best season: 2nd on 84 points
Mauricio's best season: 3rd on 70 points

Lolchettino.

Haha in all serious, what the f***. Loss to the Lincoln Red Imps probably not an ideal way to start his reign. Presumably Celtic have a 2nd leg at home to pull it back now though?
Carried by stars like Gerrard, Suarez & Sterling.

Hasn't he done enough to be proven to be an imposter after away at Stoke the final day of the following season, playing Sterling at WB or finally losing to a Gibraltan side?

Yep. They sat 11 behind the ball, had 1 chance and scored while Celtic hit the woodwork twice. Pretty standard upset. Not quite Ranieri at Greece levels yet. But still a shocker!

At least Ranieri had restrictions (couldn't select certain players) and a lack of time with his group. His successor also lost to the Faroes. By that point, its the cattle, not the farmer, lol.

Broge couldn't get the Champs of Scotland to better a tribute to the forgotten member of the East Midlands.

They do, yes. The first leg was played in Gibraltar. They have a chance to turn it around at Celtic Park, though they're going to need to thrash them to all heck if they want to erase that loss from the memory.

I thought we'd established that Tottenham has had better players in every position than Liverpool for a number of years?

Nah just the last two once we got out of the dark ages of AVB/Sherwood. Before that you guys definitely did, so much so that a clown got you close to a title.

Brenda made the right call going down to Scotland, but a risky call too. Was that or a Championship role which is where his reputation is rightly at, and that would be a lot safer than potentially failing at Scotland's biggest club. Think he'd perfect to bring a side up and playing good football and establishing themelf as a mid table club. That's the guys ceiling imo. Not liverpool. And definitely not england

I think I said at the time, no point in him going to the Championship if he has any ambition whatsoever to progress in his career. He's been there, got the t-shirt. If he gets a team promoted, it adds absolutely nothing to his reputation because he's already done it with Swansea playing an attractive brand of football until that time rarely associated with promoted sides. For me, he has nothing to prove at that level.

A move to a different league or to a national side was always by far the most rational and likely step for him after Liverpool. Given the style of football they play and their time spent working with and improving a number of the current crop of England's best footballers, I always thought he or Pochettino should've been England's first port of call when the time inevitably came to find a replacement for Hodgson, but Celtic makes sense as an alternative for both club & manager.

His options in the english top flight are few and far between. Perhaps if he held out he might have been looked at by Southampton. Dont think it would be a bad idea bringing up a big Champ side like a Fulham and establishing them again before maybe again moving to the top 6.

National side is probably suited to him. But not England. Being sacked by you guys makes his most recent role a failure so he cant be getting a role for a historic big nation. He could of course go the mid range (yeah yeah i know england perform like a mid range nation) and build them up to do a Wales but that's years toil before it shows anything. He looks like the sort of guy who wants to be noticed sooner than that.

Do you know what's just struck me? We don't have a Stoke supporter on the board. For the length of time they've been up, despite their ugly style for a chunk of it, you'd think one or two would have jumped on.

He was offered the job by the head of Arsenal's academy. Wenger then had a cry and issued him with an ultimatum lol

West Ham and Watford are now fighting over his coaching services.
Stop trying to make it something it's not.

Where would Henry be without Wenger? :D

No sacking involved, Henry was offered the U18 coaching role and Wenger told him that to take it on full time he would need to quit SKY, which he decided not to do. Sounds like it was all very respectful, shame to lose Henry I hope he will still have a role at the club in the future.
That's all it was.

Clear conflict of interest.

Surely jd is just trolling? No-one would genuinely believe he isn't PL quality. Celtic is a good match because he needs to improve his management of Europe with league/cups. The result overnight confirms it, but if he keeps struggling like that he may think a mid-table side or someone who doesn't expect anyting from Europe is his best option. Y'know - like Everton.

Interesting. Quite interesting.

Ha, Brenda's only other debut loss was against Hull in 2010 when we'd been relegated and probably had our worst team that I can remember. Embarrassing. Bloody John Bostock scored for us.

Well, we're a month away from the big start now. So I decided to take a gander to see the big day, the one that all promoted clubs await for, which is their crests on the site.

What I found was... something that needs a lot of work before the season start: http://www.premierleague.com/

I mean, you can see its a work in progress, and there is some potential for graphics there, but seriously, what is up with that layout?

A big congratulations for our promoted teams: Burnley, Hull, Middlesbrough, and London FC. Melbourne City will also hope their Manchester branch has a good debut season.

The match day screens:
http://www.premierleague.com/match/14046 (The only time Hull will be placed above Leicester at all next season)

Those bars are out of whack, not to mention a little confusing (Apparently we've played three games, two games at the KC... and it looks like the FA Cup game is counted.

http://www.premierleague.com/clubs/26/Leicester-City/overview (Actually updated as I looked, the bottom of the screen had the stats listed one by one vertically)

Leo Ulloa is U21, and a Middlesborough David Nugent has snuck his way onto the listing. It's also going to look a little odd to compare the current players with the past players if that's anything to go by. It's cool, but weird (PL be PL, never mind about your other records pre-92 and in other divisions)

http://www.premierleague.com/players/8983/Riyad-Mahrez/overview

Pictures not yet uploaded for the profile pics (I remember they had a sweet action shot of the players when you go into their details). Also, that Lion Logo for reasons unknown changes in size when you scroll.

Oh wait, Jamie Vardy has his uploaded: http://www.premierleague.com/players/8979/Jamie-Vardy/overview Interesting to note they have the actual links to the players' social media accounts.

This is going to take a while to get used to.

Ryan Giggs has come out of retirement and is now playing Futsal in India.

Hoping to earn a playing contract from a certain manager that is quite partial to the "older gentleman".

He is a shit truck manager. No troll at all. His reputation was badly damaged after Liverpool and no smart PL club should offer him a role until he gets some credits in the bank. The way to do that, go back to the Championship and bring a side up.

Everton, Southampton, Watford and Swansea have all hired new managers and the only one that could be argued to be a poorer choice than Brenda is the Watford guy who struggled at inter but was good at Napoli.
