The old European trophies do count - reread my post. Was saying things like the charity shield doesn't count as a major honour.

Major honours are:
Prem league title / old div 1
FA cup
League Cup
Champions League / old European cup
EUROPA league / old UEFA cup
ECWC (now defunct)

Your list reckons you've won 42 of those honours? That can't be right it must include minor honours like the CS

According to wiki it's 41

20 PL/1st division, 12 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, 3 CLs and 1 CWC


Seems they've counted the UEFA Super Cup as a major trophy which isn't imo.

I'd say the Confederations Cup would be the most prestigious of these types of tournaments

Plus you have to win a few games to win the thing (IIRC Club World Cup Europe are ranked highest so only play Semi Final and Final so that's rubbish).

You gotta win a pretty significant trophy to get there and the europa league winners always try hard to win.

The club world cup is actually very hard to win. It is played during a really busy part of the season against champions from other regions in unusual conditions. I remember united going to play in it in brazil in 00. The players went from 5 degrees in the UK to 40 degrees in Brazil, playing against good teams and were annihilated.
