Not sure if those stats are correct. But it's pretty obvious to me that lino's are influenced by officiating United games the same way refs used to be (and some still are).

Mistakes happen, and always will. But they seem to happen so often, and so often they are benefiting the one team. I doubt Mike Riley will do anything about it, but I think they need to find and weed out the assistants that don't have the mentality needed to officiate impartially.

Did the referee consult the linesman after that goal was scored? Surely could've asked the lino if he was flagging for the bloke who scored or if he was flagging for the bloke at the back post.
pretty hard for the ref to be in a position to overrule the lino there. Very risky to do so as well.

Probably right. When the one in 10 decisions does go against them they squeal like stuck pigs for months about it.

So essentially, it's 17 goals that have benefitted United. That is an absolute shedload.

I'd like to see it itemised, seems a bit on the high side.

All he had to do was ask whether he was flagoing the goalscorer or the other bloke. Flagging goalscorer = goal disallowed. Flagging player at back post = goal allowed. Plenty of times goals are scored, linesman flags and goals are awarded after consultation.

Now I didn't watch the game - did the referee consult with the lino?

what I'm saying is that there is no way the ref was in a position to believe that the lino hadn't made the right call. He couldn't know that Gabbiadini was onside. The ref didn't consult the lino on the offside.

makes up for all the ref errors that have gone against us. If you truly believe the refs favour united then you should probably check yourself into an institution to help with those delusions.

There's no doubt offside decisions have been skewed incredibly in your favour this season.

Plenty of blatant ones too (I'm not counting the LC final goal as blatant).

Perhaps you've suffered elsewhere with other decisions but offside is a call that results in either a goal or non goal usually. So yes you've done very well out of referees this season (so far)

The lino could've been flagging the player at the back post who actually was offside (but not interfering with play or the goalkeeper). With the goal scored it is pretty ordinary that he did not consult with his lino over it. Play was stopped so why not?

The lino must have believed he made the right call. nobody disputed it live, not even Gabbiadini.

cookie has posted links to articles detailing the decisions to go against us this season. They include 8 penos not given and 14 other shocking decisions. Sure, we all have a whinge at the time and it's frustrating but we move on. I have had this discussion with SM previously. IMO swings and roundabouts applies to the bigger clubs but not to others. We've been robbed in certain games and fortunate in others. Everyone is an expert with the use of slow motion replays. For instance, the Stephens tackle on Martial yesterday looked terrible and a straight red when viewed live. When slowed down tho it should only have been a yellow and the ref did well there not to send him off.
