No one put in more effort and wanted to win the derby more than Carra and he's always having digs at Everton and Evertonians on twitter so I think his allegiance to them is long gone. And even if he did still have a soft spot for them who cares.

bundesliga is just all over the place. well known teams schalke, wolfsburg, bremen, hamburg and gladbach are all in the bottom half. yet frankfurt, hoffenheim and berlin are in european spots right now. not that they're not well know, but they kind of just swap around year after year. easy to forget leipzig only just got promoted too. another well known side, stuttgart got relegated last season.

outside of bayern and dortmund, it's difficult to read how good some of the players at those clubs are.

in 5 years? you'll see guys like adarabioyo, tuanzebe, oxford, clarke-salter, humphreys all pushing for selection. probably a few others we haven't even heard of coming through (if all goes to plan). probably numerous others that i haven't listed too.

Or less. I think from what I've seen of PL/C'Ship CBs coming through, those two will be the ones focussed on by the selectors. Think end of this season Maguire moves to Soton/Everton and from there up the food chain.

oh no doubt. i was just making a point that unlike now, england are going to have quite a few options at cb if everything goes to plan. in fact they are going to have options all over the ground.

Absolutely, but hard to insure all come through as planned.

We've never had a player play for England so it's a bit exciting, though not sure he'll be the one to play while a city player.

Absolutely, but hard to insure all come through as planned.

Maguire has been around a bit longer (was at Sheffield United for a few years) and I feel Keane has more potential/growth and has been a rock for Burnley the last couple of years.

Soton/West Ham/Everton/Stoke etc would be a good move up for Maguire however to see if he's capable enough, but I'm not sure if he's a top 6 team CB yet.

i dont see Maguire being much worse than Wimmer

wouldn't really push Dier for his starting spot but would be a handy backup

keane on the other hand would be every chance to actually make our first XI
