Bale very much had a free role in the final third that season, as did Suarez. He definitely wasn't out there hugging the touch line every week.

Suarez scored more goals, had more assists, created more chances, and completed almost twice as many dribbles. Bale scored some spectacular goals from distance, which might be why there's more nostalgia around his year than there is around Suarez's, but for me there are just as many reasons for Suarez to have won that award as there were for Bale, perhaps more depending on who you ask. They both had their own unique ways of scoring goals and dominating games of football.

Was mostly for placing bets on games he was playing in. Including one instance he apparently placed 9 bets on a single game for his own team to lose.

18 months was lenient imo.
