They literally just copied the list me and Cruyffy posted up a year or so ago. Very similar, but then we are both football athoritatives.

Sue the bastards for plagiarism.

Giggs about 25 places too high. Most overrated player in the history of English football. It's like seeing a list with Dustin Fletcher ahead of Ablett Jr, Judd, Carey and Franklin.

Aguero should be there instead of Suarez. 54 more goals and a much better scoring rate not to mention two league titles.

Silva should be in there too.

I'm interested to see what happens also. Barca have a lot of clout with UEFA and UEFA clearly doesn't like these upstarts City and PSG crashing the party. But the arabs have enough cash to fend off any attack you'd expect

It seems they are fighting them on the basis that they are receiving state based funding. Which is true but not sure if EU competition rules apply to the football industry.

This is clearly sour grapes over the Neymar transfer saga although he does have a point. In a normall free business market funding from state based aids is usually considered anti competitive. PSG and City are the only 2 clubs who are funded by soverign wealth funds.

The EU actually prohibits it:

Interesting to see what happens with this.

Only 2 clubs who aren't permitted to receive any investment from their owner, or sponsorship from certain regions according to a few.

Don't blame me. EU competition laws prohibits state based funding and that's what the argument La Liga is using with its complaint. Whether those laws are applicable to the football industry remains to be seen. Interesting to see what happens next.

Expect to see Liverpool in the dock soon over their Malaysian Airlines sponsorship. Shame that.

RIP Liverpool.

The distinction isnt made in EU competition law relating to state aid.

I wasnt seriously suggesting Liverpool would be in any trouble fwiw.

I do however question a competition policy that allows Liverpool do gain sponsorship from Malaysias national airline, United to be sponsored by the majority government owned airline of Russia and Arsenal sponsored by Dubais national airline but sees our sponsorship with Etihad as anti competitive because it's from the same place as our owner.

But people desperately hoping for EU help are grasping at straws anyway. The rules apply to state aid from member states only. Mansour is not a state let alone a member state of the EU.

But who knows, I could be wrong. Will be fun to see.
