Nah. Crowds go up and down. This happened back in 09/10/11. Crowds will bounce back.
It's losing relevance at a time it should be flourishing with no competition from the bbl or tennis yet. Needs a massive overhaul at the top

i've never understood why the afl and a league dont team up. encourage fans from both codes to get involved. yet there's this pointless hostility even though the codes are in different seasons.

The afl get nothing out of it

FFA are ****s, they are screwing with the game. the a-league is quality mate
On the field it's not bad

But this game used to nearly sell out Etihad. Didn't even know it was on until 7pm today. Marketing and fan engagement is 100x worse than it was early days. It's like they think they made it after 4-5 seasons

They would get absolutely plenty out of it. Gws for instance could get a lot of wsw supporters.

That's the only afl club that could and should do something being the second team to the a league club. But no Melbourne, WA or SA club would bother. Can't see what the swans or lions would get out of it either

Good press? And if you think the lions would get nothing out of it...

The roar aren't exactly going to get them a heap of good press up there. They barely do enough of that for themselves. The bakari group don't run a very good operation for the lions to get anything out of it.

arent there clubs in victoria like partnered with netball clubs and stuff?
Collingwood own a netball club

Carlton and Collingwood tried it with the nsl and it was no good.

If carlton link with victory and Collingwood with city how do you think Essendon and Richmond supporters would feel about both a league clubs if they were on the fence about supporting them

The A League to me feels like it’s already peaked, I do remember years ago seeing Etihad being packed with 40k fans watching Victory v Adelaide or Sydney, nowadays it’s a poor turn out.

And not sure how AFL clubs would go about linking with A League teams, in Melbourne it’d be really tough as there is a lot of teams, I’d support a Geelong A League team though, not sure I’d get to many games but.

Geelong could work with a link to a feeling based a league club. It'd be more for the a league clubs benefit though.

Not sure how it's peaked when there's only 10 teams lol.

2 things I've seen that are out of the blue:

1) Luke Shaw to Fenerbache. What the actual ****.

2) Paolo Guerrero has been suspended for a year for doping charges. Peru is now a whole lot easier in the WC.

Peaked in quality or relevance maybe.

The quality on field isn't getting the recognition it deserves because the league is marketed poorly. Crowds aren't there and general football people aren't as into it as they were in the first 4-5 years.

Hopefully someone new comes into the FFA and isn't too proud to admit that they need to do some serious work. The NBL owner could put some pressure on if they make the most of basketballs gain in popularity.
