It was leaked that Ronaldo was going to win it wasn't it? Not really a surprise for me.

Messi (IMO) had a better individual season but Ronaldo collecting the CL and Euros probably what got him over the line in the end.

Think I read since 2008, it's been one of them winning it - amazing feat. Just goes to show how gifted they are.
I believe Kaka was the last time neither Messi or Ronaldo won it. Amazing stat, to think how long ago Kaka was in his prime.

Messi played more games and had a lower goals per game record than Ronnie.
A bit misleading though, given how many goals are scored by Neymar or Suarez.

Conversely, Ronaldo is probably more relied upon to score. Which he does with aplomb.

You've welched somewhat there with the Ronnie pic WC. I think a picture of him with the 08/09 premier league title would be more appropriate
I am not a welcher I have uploaded a pic of Ronaldo for 5 days and have thus satisfied the bet.

Didn't quite know where to post this, but I haven't seen it posted anywhere else. (I went with the secondary report, because the original was in the Australian... and if I were a terrorist I'd hide behind the Australian's paywall, where no one will ever venture.)

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2016/12/13/brazil-play-argentina-mcg-report

Five time world champions Brazil will reportedly take on a Lionel Messi-led Argentina at the MCG in June 2017.

The Victorian government is expected to make the announcement in the coming weeks, according to a report in The Australian newspaper.

It is also understood that one of the teams will stay and play Australia a few days after the clash as a warm-up for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia which starts on June 17.

Brazil currently lead the 2018 South American FIFA World Cup Qualifying table, while they also tasted glory at the 2016 Rio Olympics as Neymar led them to the gold medal.

Argentina have appeared, and lost, in three straight international finals; the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Copa America and the 2016 Copa America.

The match would be seen as a huge coup for the Victorian government which is the last few years has hosted the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool, Roma and Juventus.

The match could bring some of the biggest names in world football to Australia, including Messi, Neymar, Dani Alves, David Luiz, Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Carlos Tevez.

It would be Messi's second match at the MCG, after Argentina beat the Socceroos 1-0 in 2007 in front of 70,000 spectators.

The Superclasico de las Americas fixture has been played at a neutral venue once before since its introduction in 2011, with Beijing hosting the most recent edition two years ago, won by Brazil.

I have the privilege of picking the new avatar for WC, but I will take suggestions from Bojan KantKick. Changing it to your current one is being a sore loser WC. Same goes for all those slagging off the best player in the world as voted once again.

WC said that Suarez would poll ahead of CR7 in the 2016 Balon d'Or and was willing to bet on it with avatar pic, which I comfortably agreed to. I invited other Pool and Barca so called die hards to the deal but deep down they all must have known that CR7 is far superior.
