because seluk got on that gravy train when he moved to i think ukraine and has pulled the strings ever since. i think yaya has a kid who is named after seluk.

yaya has legit been seluk's only player of any note. yaya has ignored the advice of kolo in the past for seluk. it's truly a remarkably close relationship. but seluk has only ever looked out for himself, yaya's talent has dragged the both of them along. im sure seluk will get a nice payday again next season when he tells him to sign for whatever club next.

nothing changes. he isn't good enough. he'll stay around, might get a few appearances off the bench, but he never starts an important game unless everyone else is injured.

his insecurity and blind faith to this man ended his career at the top level. but that's his choice. he has clearly spent his whole life being an absolute puppet to seluk, so of course he's going to stick by him when it has gotten him this far. for better or worse, yaya probably feels he owes seluk everything, when in reality, it's the other way around.
