No they havent. The best they can do is say that there will be suspicion until they disclose their accounts.

They also say Etihad will most probably become profitable if it isnt already.
They explained that they were bullshit and they are being funded by the Abu Dhabi Govt.

national airlines don't need to be profitable fwiw

what they bring to the economy outweighs the losses

Yep and there are differences to western accounting reporting. I profess I'm no expert on it but it does differ in some key areas which can make them hard to take some meaning out of.

Has a more holistic approach encompassing religious aspects rather than purely economic transactions and values assets at current value as opposed to the historical cost.
If you transfer your liabilities to another company your govt owns then your balance sheet looks really pretty.

Having accounts audited really means nothing unless you release your accounts. It's basically what Trump did during the election

No they didnt. They said that the costs associated with earning revenue from partner airlines should be identified. Whether they were or not doesnt makes any difference to the bottom line.

They also spoke about investments in other airlines funded by the government. Without specifying how that would affect profit and loss. Or if it would.

'However, while Etihad includes partnership revenues in its top line, the extent to which associated alliance costs bear down on its bottom line is not disclosed. Let’s be clear: the revenues that Etihad enjoys from its partners do not come for free. Its 49% stake in Alitalia came with a price-tag of €560 million ($750 million), for example. The funds for this acquisition came directly from Abu Dhabi’s government, according to The Wall Street Journal, which alleged overall capital injections of $2.5 billion by the state in 2014.

Such investments are not one-off expenses. Since Etihad upped its stake in Air Berlin in 2012, the German carrier has posted net losses of $916 million. It is logical to suppose that Etihad, as a significant shareholder, shoulders some of the pain. Indeed, the same WSJ report alleged that Etihad purchased perpetual bonds in Air Berlin to the tune of $399 million two years ago.

By talking up the positive returns from the alliance without acknowledging associated costs, Etihad is reaping the rewards of its government’s spending spree in a vacuum –ignoring all concomitant liabilities. That doesn’t sound like a commercial operation to me.'

Just because you don't believe them doesnt mean there is any lie.

!!!!! A 651m usd operating loss!

You know a companies ****ed when they have to sell off core assets to keep the doors open. Did you read the statement of comprehensive income :$:$:$

The financial statements aren't consolidated either so we can't see all the shit they are hiding in other entities ;)

Airlines don't make money. No need to defend your owners on this as pretty much no airlines make money.

But he'll try.

I don't need to defend anyone.

And personally don't care if Etihad does get goverment funding or not.

But the gist of your argument is that Etihad and other airlines are set up for PR purposes. Which is a bit ridiculous. They take in billions in revenue, and even Forbes who have doubts say they will most likely be profitable in the future if they arent already.

And they havent proved to your satisfaction that they made a profit. Therefore they musnt have.

Qantas made record profits on its last books.

Etihad haven't proven to anyones satisfaction that they have ever made a profit. These airlines are elaborate PR campaigns.

It's a PR exercise for Abu Dhabi in a similar way that Manchester City is. They are desperate to upstage Dubai.

OK campaigner. 99% of them don't make money. It's not as if Qantas is regularly in the black either.

Most of their losses in previous books was because of how they allocated asset purchases. It's a profitable airline when run properly and Joyce runs a tight ship. Believe they even returned reasonable dividends for shareholders on their last books.

David Conn wrote some great articles about it around the time of the takeover and discussed the Abu Dhabi agenda in great detail. It's like the worlds biggest deflection. ...We'll until this Qatar world cup thing.

Quite fascinating reading about the feud between Dubai & Abu Dhabi. Constantly trying to outspend and outdo each other. Can't see Abu Dhabi overtaking Dubai as the premier ME destination though.

Oh no!

Has fullmatchesandshows being destroyed?

Tried to watch MOTD but it said it had been taken down because of copyright infringements so then just tried to watch the Liverpool v Watford highlights and it said, this video no longer exists.

Sad times.
