This will only start a shitstorm. Pogba isn't a scorer like Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Bale etc where if we got one of them for £90m and they were scoring people would be saying "money well spent" "he's justifying his price tag".

I've been very happy with Pogba, he's a beast, the price we had to pay to get him back was always going to be the talk when he started playing and his performances would be heavily analysed. Good thing he is only 23 and will get better and better.

For Pogba to have justified his fee what would he have to be doing or done at this point? 10 goals and 12 assists?

Pogba's been OK. A fair way from justifying his pricetag, or the hype that was placed on him last August.

Carefully chosen stats don't tell me much, he's playing a different role at United than he did at Juve (I'd imagine he see's a lot more of the ball this season than he ever has before).

I'd be expecting more from him, but I wouldn't be expecting it straight away.

Pretty much, that's the type of success you expect for 90M... Paul Pogba will never live up to his transfer fee and that's not his fault - at the end of the day United spent 90M on a player that will never be worth it.

That's a pretty limited way of looking at it though IMO. This notion that unless he's performing like the most expensive player in the world then he's a waste of money is just obscene. He's 23 FFS. United are a team in transition and this is an investment in our future. He has all the time in the world to pay that fee back.

I'm not trying to blindly defend the club or temper expectations or anything but I just think people are getting too carried away by the label of being the most expensive player and what that means. There's so much money in football these days and such a shortage of world class players on the market that I think we'll see the record broken again soon enough under similar circumstances. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens when Verratti wants a fresh challenge.

and then it will happen again. it's driven by the media who are afraid of 1) foreigners and 2) fresh ideas.

everything needs to be perfect in 6 weeks.

You don't buy a £89m player and expect them to "need" time. That's absurd IMO. When you pay a world record transfer fee you expect the best of the best, a finished article.

Buy an unproven raw talent if you want a player who can develop into a star. Obviously Pogba is a quality player but unless he dominates unfortunately he's always going to be viewed as overpriced. Right now he's playing OK but nothing a decent £25m pound signing couldn't have done for Utd.

What a difference a year makes.

Pogba has been very good, with a bit more luck and zlatan finishing half the chances he has created for him, he would be talked anout as one of the best players in the league already.
Pogba has completed more through balls than anyone else in the prem this year. Unfortunately, half of them are to Rooney.

Hes not far off having a dominant performance, getting closer every game. Hes not a £90m player on the pitch but its all the other goo that comes with it as well.

Would have loved him at Chelsea.
He was pretty close to that against us. Easily the best player on the pitch in that game imo.

This. The summer transfer window turned me off him. The united fans fap fest was nauseating.
