I've read that, mostly only in England, that unless the ball goes outside the stadium or goes flat, the same ball is used, even if it goes into the empty terraces.

Come to think of it, when I watch PL games and the ball goes in the stand, the full back usually runs over and waits for the crowd to throw it back to him. So one ball?

It would also make sense when strikers score a hatty, they want to keep the match ball but if there is 15 balls around the ground, then what's the point.

I've also seen in different leagues across Europe, the ball go out and a little ball boy pops up and throws a new ball at the players who is looking to take a quick throw. Then they will scamper off and collect the other ball.

So in answer to your original question. No ****ing idea.

They used to have multi ball in England. But cameras got footage of all the extra balls being collected and put in a bag after Everton went 1-0 up against Man United.

They figured it was too easy for clubs to speed up or slow down the game to suit their circumstances so they banned it.

It's still in use in Europe iirc.

I cbf going back to previous seasons but as for this season, the pen v West Ham was warranted as was the red. The red for Januzaj was too. That's all that matters, if they're correct decisions it matters not.
