Le Tiss may have been the best to watch but he would barely be in the best 25 attacking players in the PL era
Lol I'm one of Zola's biggest fans but that is an outrageous call

dont think he's in a big rush to get back into management. he's pretty busy with salford and punditry. Will GNev ever manage a team again? Or was he that bad he'll never get another shot? Or is he too big shot to go down to a Leyton Orient and work his way up?
Valeron was amazing for Depor. They had a great side in the early 00s but he really drove them.Whilst he isn't the definitive gospel for this, being one of the greatest mids of all time means what he says has merit in this particular conversation. That and almost everyone who's seen Scholes and Le Tissier live and in their primes say that they were the best midfielders they've ever in that time period.
Physically yes you have a point but technically they were about even from all accounts. One played for clubs consistently challenging for top honours whilst the other played for a club that wasn't getting past a particular level so of course one is going to be rated higher. Juan Carlos Valeron is considered by a lot Spaniards as their greatest ever player but Xavi and Iniesta will always be more highly regarded outside the country because they played for Barcelona instead of Deportivo La Coruna.
This will more than likely get my SAFC fandom revoked and have me hanged but Shear............can't do it.

Jaap Stam, Denis Irwin and Ashley Cole are the best prem defenders all time by a decent margin.I always feel as though the defenders always get undersold in these types of debates. After all, defending is as valuable an art as scoring or being sublime on the ball. Would any of them go close to being the best player ever? I've only been watching football, let alone the PL, since about 2010 when I was 18, so I am in no way qualified to add anything significant, but would the likes of Vidic, Terry etc be worthy of being in the discussion?
Didn't Cruyffy and WR do a thread on the best PL players of all time only a few months ago, anyway?
Vidic and ferdinand also a good shout.Jaap Stam, Denis Irwin and Ashley Cole are the best prem defenders all time by a decent margin.
Vida and Rio were great but Jip Jaap in his prime was a ****ing beast.Vidic and ferdinand also a good shout.
The only reason why shitty won in 2012 was because vida was injured
Irwin was the goat fullback.Vida and Rio were great but Jip Jaap in his prime was a ******* beast.
Denis Irwin quite comfortably the goat full back in england. Never made a mistake and banged important goals.
Best lb and rb in pl history.Denis Irwin lol
umm when i was growing up in the uk 20 years ago floggoI'm beginning to wonder when you guys started watching PL football, or any football for that matter. You certainly didn't have access to the PL when Irwin was playing so not sure how you can make that call. Similar thing to Cruyff's call on fat Ronaldo yesterday
better than Dalglish, Hansen and Souness combined imo.Irwin is one of those terribly overrated players.
I love how all the best defenders in the history of everything are apparently United players, Stam, Vidic, Rio, Irwin.... yawn.
