His international career with the Union was excellent as well. So much so that he's held in the same level of esteem in Russia as Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space. This might sound irrelevant but you'd have to be ridiculously good to be loved as much as Gagarin is in Moscow.
Ja ja, that's right, one of the most respected figures in Russia. Amazing to think how difficult that can be sometimes (loved by the world, yet hated by your own, isn't that right, Pele?)

Ha ha, well said.

Sterling just needs to get his head down and recapture his Liverpool form. He's not progressing at City

I'm sure there's no bias there :p
Haha I'm pretty good at being impartial! He's still playing for a top club side and the national team at the age of 40. He's still making match winning saves in the champions league against top sides. Add to the fact he comes across as a genuinely nice human being, he's easily still top 3.

Neuer is definitely up there and so is De Gea but Courtouis, Cech, Bravo, Hart etc seem to have all lost their touch that won them plaudits.

He's been arguably our best player this season. And without doubt the big improver in the squad.

Definitely in your top 2 players until late October / early November. Has he dropped off more than the team since then or about the same?
Missed a bit with injury before Christmas. Struggled a bit on his return but been good the last few weeks.

He's been underwhelming when I've watched him, but I bow to your superior knowledge on this.

Fair to say he hasn't got back to the level he was at during the slippy G season, when he emerged and looked a genuine WC prospect

i would say he has been very consistent throughout. his stat line would look even better if his opponents could finish. his finishing has improved and i think as sane gets more bedded in, it will take attention away from him in terms of defenders. it was easily to defend him last season because silva out on the left is a totally different player. but if you have sane and sterling on a flank each, swapping around and changing through the middle, who do you prioritise?

he's had a couple of bad games, as all wingers do, but he is becoming a genuine star. still only just turned 22.

Have City banned them from press conferences?

Not as far as I know. The clubs softly, softly approach to the press is a source of frustration to a lot of blues.
