Regardless, the traveling fans are not the only issue here. Fixture congestion (as I mentioned earlier), Arsenal/local police/public transport authority having to put on extra staff to work on Xmas eve when they previously would have planned to spend time with their families, local pubs that would have expected a quieter afternoon/night will have to put on extra staff. There are a lot of issues that are created purely so that Sky can broadcast their preferred game of the round and BT can't.
Already going to be enough people congesting the streets with last minute shopping.
Imagine the stare from the missus on christmas eve too "see ya darl, off to the football"... as she's slaving away over the stove preparing christmas dinner for the rellies. Good luck with that.

Either way all of Sky's revenue from the PL comes as a result of supporters (either directly through subscription fees or indirectly through advertising revenue as a result of ratings from supporters watching), and they should be more considerate of the fans in general.

They absolutely should be more considerate, but I guess as WR says this is what happens when there's so much money involved. Sky are paying a particular sum for a particular set of rights when it comes to the PL. If fixturing is part of the rights bestowed to them then the outrage should be directed at the PL for not imposing more stringent guidelines.

Agree that it is within their rights to do the fixtures, but personally I think that a decision like this should have been made at the start of the season when the fixtures are first announced, giving everyone enough time to plan their holiday movements around it. It is probably the PL that needs to legislate this in their deals.

Pique getting involved in the Catalonia referendum on Twitter. Not the smartest thing to do.

It won't be the first time he's spoken up on the issue.

I wonder if he realizes what will happen to Barcelona if independence was to occur.

They'll stay in La Liga if it happens. If they aren't admitted to the EU they may fund signing La Liga players difficult.

Barca themselves are strong pushers of Catalan independence. He's just lining up with club policy. (Course, it would be a bad look if the club pushing for independence is not going to join their own national league.)

Chuckled at how close the cameraman decided to get.

Yeah, the fashion parade before the game has stuck with me. Some really attractive women that morning, one in particular was sat in the crowd and has stuck in my mind. After 19 years it’s probably time to get out more.
