Is it true that he got a red card before the game started?

Has that ever happened before? Did Marseille play with 10 men for 90 minutes or did they get a late replacement because the game hadn't started yet?

He was on the bench so they played with 11.

He was named on the bench.

Was just looking at a few goal scoring stats. Noticed that our forward players - Jesus, Aguero, Sane and Sterling have been heavily rotated throughout the season so far.

All four have played less than 600 of a possible 900 minutes in the league. Hopefully something that will have benefits later in the season when a lot of players start to get worn down by a long season.

Haven't seen the stats but have noticed midfielders being taken out of games early quite a bit too. Except for Dinho who is a maxhine.

i give violence a pass in response to racism.
I give it a pass if the fan is encroaching on the players space, looked awfully close.
Not long ago an Everton fan hit a player.

If it was racism related the guy deserves everything that was coming his way.
Geez Jodly.

Yeah the response isn't justified in this situation. He jumped the fence to confront fans calling him shit. You can excuse someone getting into a bit of argy bargy but you cannot excuse fly kicking someone. Marseille are terminating his contract by the sound of it and rightly so.

Nobody even knows if it was racism and no you dont deserve everything that comes your way just because you call someone some words, even if it is racist.

Violence is not the answer to anything at any time. Disappointing that both you and Bojan KantKick seem to feel thats ok.

Would I have kicked him. No, but I've never hit anyone, well I did hit my brother the day he threw a large kitchen knife at me which narrowly missed my head. Apart from that, never hit a single person.
There were still fans encroaching in areas they shouldn't have been and were at very close proximity to fellow Marseille players.

He copped a red for it and UEFA have issued a match ban. That's enough for a minor indiscretion.
Fans should not have been there and security guards should be reprimanded for allowing it to happen.

Let's call a spade a spade, you're calling him a campaigner because he's a former manc.
If it were a Liverpool player you'd be wondering why the fans were so close and would be more forgiving.

The situation shouldnt have happened with fans being so close but you're just making up excuses for him so that's ok to fly kick someone in the face when it really, really isnt.

Violence is never, ever the answer.

The chants directed at Evra were "Get out of OM" and "Go back to your videos".

I am disturbed that there are some on here defending him for jumping over the advertising hoardings and fly kicking a fan. There is simply no defense for his actions at alll.

Not surprised to see Liverpool fans defending racism again

For mine both guys are in the wrong. Evra should have verbally abused him back, telling him to f off and then tell security to eject the clown and get him banned from the stadium.
