Blackpool put up for sale apparently. Ref was removed from their next game, has an amusing name given the circumstances. Ben Toner :D

Young players have to take responsibility for their own careers. We've got the likes of Gunn who has done well in loan at Norwich (just been called up to England senior squad I believe) but imo wasted last year by staying at City rather than going out on loan.

Tosin is another one that really needs to be playing senior football now.

Clubs need to do better but players need to take charge of their careers as well. Even if it means leaving the comfort zone permanently which is what I think RLC (and Gunn and maybe Tosin) will eventually have to do.

It's not entirely true players waste a year not going out on loan. Look at Harry Winks. Spent a whole year around the first team squad barely playing and now he is England's first choice CM ;)

I'll wait until he's made a few more than his current 8 career starts in the league before I call the Winks approach an unquestioned success.

Iheanacho leaving City has certainly worked wonders for him.

It's a success because his development hasn't stalled. Despite not playing or going out on loan he is 10x the player now than he was 2-3 years ago.

Different strokes for different folks imo. There is no definite perfect way to develop a player and all players are different. Some more suited to extensive periods out on loan, some from first team training at their home club. Particular in their late teens

Body shape plays a big part in that.

Kane and Townsend for instance we able to match it with senior pros at a young age. Onomah and winks couldn't so were better served on the training pitch

Wait until 80 starts. Ballon D'or beckons ;)
