The only thing of interest for me was the suggestion that Mansour isn't the real owner. The involvement of Khaldoon and Pearce does lend weight to that, but it's not a theory I believe. Whenever the team goes to Abu Dhabi it's Mansour they meet and there's enough photos of him wearing City stuff/celebrating wins etc.

The Sheikh Issa stuff was bizarre. He has nothing to do with the club, never has had and the writer doesn't even suggest he is involved in any way. But he devotes the first three paragraphs of this article wanting to make him the focus of a City documentary. Throw enough mud I guess.

The princesses stuff is weird as well. I presume Human Rights Watch doesn't support the presumption of guilt by association, who knows maybe they do.

Qatar/ISIS Arena comment was just stupid.

Other than that there isn't really anything in the article that isn't already out there in the public domain, although I understand why non City supporters would like it.

I'd be very uncomfortable twith the fact that the UAE government who is bankrolling City Football Group (at a fianancial loss of 850m over 10 years - going to take a long time to recoup that investment) decided that Sheikh Issa was not guilty of torture because "he was drugged and was the victim of blackmail".

Ahmed Mansoor being jailed for speaking out against the Abu Dhabi government is par for the course in that part of the world to. Human rights seem to be the same as what they were in the medieval western world and it is pretty clear that CFG and/or subsidirary clubs are being used as a mechanism to improve the image of Abu Dhabi.

I'd be outraged as a fan if it was me personally. Obviosuly you don't see it as an issue. I signed a petiition for the removal of Tibet Water as a sponsor for Liverpool FC for example.

Perhaps where you come from WR. Over here, women's cricket is booming. I've been to a few of the female Scorcher's games, and the quality is fantastic.

As mentioned elsewhere, my son plays. His team is loaded with boys who have younger sisters, almost enough to start an U12 girls team. And while the boys are on the field, the girls are ALWAYS in the nets practicing. It's great to see. The boys say the name "Elysse Perry" with the same awe as they do "Steve Smith".

There's no downside to women's cricket growing.
