Lallana is a steady 6-7 out of 10 player. Wilshere is anything from 0 (he misses so often) to 9 out of 10. In a 4-7 game tournament take the gamble on the player with the brilliance in his locker

Lallana absolutely has X-factor and an ability to turn games.
Against Burnley and west Brom etc. most definitely.

Against Barca, France, Germany etc. no

I'd rather sign Lallana for a league squad. But at a WC id start Wilshere over him and I can't stand him

I might add the play different cm roles as well so it's not really a like for like. Lallana is either in to compliment him and is more in direct competition with dele alli for the more advanced cm role. Wilshere plays deeper than both those two when they play in central midfield

I wouldn't start Lallana because he's still got a long way to go with his fitness. Was out for several months.

Could see him making the bench and getting subbed onto the right wing or RCM (if they play in a midfield 3).

Sterling-Kane-Rashford
Wilshere-Henderson-Dele
Rose-McGuire-Stones-Walker
Pickford

Subs: Pope, Lascelles, Bertrand, Dier, Winks, Lallana, Vardy
Not a bad side, but Southgate, like Pochettino, absolutely loves Eric Dier. He even gave him the armband against Germany and apparently he's a chance the last time I read something about it, along with Kane and Henderson, of receiving it on a permanent basis for the WC. There's no way that he doesn't play him.

He may not be world class but Dier allows a lot of tactical flexibility mid game which not many players can do. Easy to go from 4231 to 3421 with him in the side mid first half

Was it Ashton who wrote that? It's complete nonsense.

While I think that the no trophies is overblown when it comes to this team and Pochettino, we would actually need to win multiple things over an extended period to have that genuinely written about us.

Change us to City and he may have a point, but even then it would need to take extended success for them to get that sort of praise.

I posted it for the ridiculous take from the Ashton not having a shot at Spurs.

Reporters wonder why they are not respected anymore.

the massive reaction one way or another from the press this season has been as bad as i can remember. just so over the top. we havent won a thing yet, and while we're playing brilliant football, you have to get the trophies to be put into some sort of best the prem has seen category.

They spent a shit load this summer

Keane + Siggurddson + Klassen is roughly what our best XI's fees were

That's a cop out though since a bunch of your XI were Academy products.

Oh yeah, I know that.

I agree with you. Even City shouldn't be considered at that level yet. It's garbage from that journo.

Not really. Our PL squad has 3 academy graduates who've played a match this season (Winks, KWP and Kane) and our CL squad has 1 appearance for Sterling and Georgiou.

Of those a grand total of 1 player is a weekly starter in the team. 1.

It's a bit of a myth that with spurs he is bringing through academy products. Which is why I'm glad he gave CCV and Onomah the chance to play senior football on loan this year.

Yeah pounds. Thought he was 6m rising to 8m
Nah, 4m pounds. At least that's according to his Wiki page, which is surprisingly accurate when it comes to transfers I've seen of other plaeyrs.

Yeah that's probably right I couldn't really find anything on his so just went with the gut. Some absolute steals in there. Lloris and Eriksen for under 12m!

Yeah, Eriksen and Dele for me are the biggest steals, perhaps even in the PL. Not only because of how good they are, but their increase in value is ridiculous. I doubt Levy would let them go for a combined total of under, at the least, 200m.

Considering today's market, Dele Alli is a 150-200 million pound player.
